The Bristol 41.1 is a gracious, comfortable and very seaworthy vessel. Designer Ted Hood was an innovative sailmaker, a naval architect and America's Cup winner. He designed yachts for long range cruising with racecourse performance. Several models were built with lifting keels; with the Little Harbor and Bristol range being among the most popular sailing yacht designs. Some 104 hulls were built by Bristol Yachts and they are known for their excellent performance and supreme fit-out and finish.

Takalani (meaning 'Be Happy') was launched in 1981 and spent her early years cruising the West Coast of the US down to Mexico. She exchanged owners and set sail on a honeymoon cruise along the Coconut trail across the Pacific to Australia. She was purchased in Mooloolaba in 2012 by her previous owners who were looking for a solid and safe, sea-kindly yacht that would be easy to sail single handed but provide the space to live comfortably aboard for extended periods. They spent 12yrs cruising the East coast of Australia and Tasmania while caring for the vessel incredibly well. She was purchased mid 2023 by her current owner and sailed to Tasmania soon after. Unfortunatley circumstances have changed and the yacht is reluctantly being sold.

Several significant enhancements and upgrades have been made to the yacht over the past 13yrs, including converting her electrical system from 110v to 240v, adding a water maker an inner forestay and new main.

Best Features include:
Shoal Draft (1.4m) with Lifting Keel (when lowered 3.1m)
2-cabin / 2 - head with large master cabin and king size bed (aft)
Spacious aft deck with dinghy davits
Newly painted topsides in Awlgrip (stone grey) with fresh antifoul/anodes

'Takalani' is a beautiful example of the Bristol 41.1, and a true testament to the pedigree one recognises from this highly acclaimed designer and boat builder (Bristol Marine). She presents in 'above average condition' and would make the perfect option for cruising in Australia or farther offshore.

'Takalani' is a rare and special yacht and she would be best suited to either a single or couple who enjoy entertaining from a protected centre cockpit, those who admire quality workmanship, but first and foremost those who appreciate the sensation of smooth and safe all-weather sailing.
