Farr 11.6

The Farr 11.6 is a great option for those seeking a fast family cruiser as well as a competitive club racer or even IRC Handicap Regatta entrant. Wide decks, a spacious cockpit, powerful rig and comfortable accommodation are hallmarks of the Farr 11.6.

"Outsider" is a much loved family owned yacht that was purchased by her current owners when in their 60's and sailed as a couple cruising around Moreton Bay and is now also a regular competitor (and sometimes winner) in local WAGS racing but the time has now come for a new owner to enjoy all she has to offer. The boat is well maintained with receipts for engine servicing, antifoul, new rigging in 2020, new windows and deck hatch and new batteries. She carries a wardrobe of good quality carbon North sails including a variety of mast head and fractional spinnakers and asymmetrical spinnakers plus poles and a removable prodder on the bow. "Outsider" has a current IRC Certificate (TCC 1.010 - Non Spinnaker 0.992) and Cat 6 Audit with all attendant safety gear.

Built like the proverbial brick outhouse with laminated beam, strengthened bulkheads and solid fiberglass deck she is a solid yet light yacht. The mast is fractional rigged with single spreaders and keel stepped so she's well designed for offshore cruising or racing. In fact, Outsider has been a previous winner of some coastal classics such as the Sydney to Southport and Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht races and has recently competed with placings in the QLD IRC Championships.

All running rigging is in very good condition as are the quality stainless steel Anderson Self Tailing winches, Raymarine navionics include a plotter at the nav table and i70 Displays in the cockpit plus autopilot. A new Volvo Penta 27HP engine was installed in 2013 and currently has only around 1,000 hours racked up and both engine and saildrive have recently had a full service.

Accommodation is generous for up to 8 persons in 3 x double berths and a large comfortable convertible saloon with tasteful upholstery also in good condition. The galley is functional with good bench space and storage, fridge / freezer, stainless steel sink with hot and cold water. The enclosed head has hot and cold water to the shower and an electric macerating toilet. The teak and holly floor adds warmth to the interior ambience which is also light and well ventilated.
