If you like your sailing fast and comfortable then this McConaghy 50 from the design board
of Australian Iain Murray demands your inspection.
This two-owner yacht has only been lightly cruised used since her launch in 1998 and has
undergone significant recent maintenance and equipment upgrades by her experienced US
owners. This work includes but is not limited to a full cabin top repaint, new safety glass
windows and new deck hatches, new rudder bearings, new deck clutches and jammers,
ground tackle, anchor winch and lots more.
With a twin swept-spreader full carbon rig (no runners required), twin carbon wheels, a
sleek cabin top profile and a 3.0m draft, this yacht is designed for fast ocean cruising
without giving anything away to comfort or safety.

Below deck is a beautifully-finished interior in American cheery featuring three large private
cabins, a great saloon, functional galley, private toilet and shower and fully upgraded power
management systems including a new bank of Victron 400A Lithium batteries and a suite of
Victron power management solutions including 230V 12/80 inverter/charger, 350W solar
panels, Victron colour controller and BMV meters - all designed by Ocean Planet Energy.
The yacht has also been fitted with the latest B&G sailing instruments including H5000 autopilot and Vesper AIS.
Her deck gear and layout lend itself to short-handed sailing yet there is ample room for a full
race crew.
This is a unique yacht, strongly constructed from GRP epoxy and strip plank cedar (hull) and
GRP epoxy cored deck and cabin top. The keel is fabricated from stainless steel with a lead
bulb.
The vendors will soon return to the US and have priced the yacht to sell. A 35m Bayswater
