|The yacht has many features typical of Laurent Giles and is effectively a small version of his much larger Dorus Mohr design. She has a conventional long keel, a wonderful flare to the bow with that slight chine worked into the sheer strake, a positive sheer and a long, over-hanging transom stern. Add a generous beam which gives so much space on deck and volume in the cabin and we have a design that has endured until very recent times and been well respected by serious offshore cruising sailors.
The sheltered midships helm position, is a huge advantage with the open-backed dog-house protected by the aft cabin coach-roof.
Her attractive appearance, together with her robustness yet elegance, give her an almost queenly motion at sea. Add to this great design, the knowledge that the sellers have continued to upgrade and maintain her during their global circumnavigation, to keep them safe in all conditions. As you can see from the listing below, she will suit someone looking for a center cockpit cruising yacht at a fraction of a new boat cost. Low hours on the Yanmar (fitted 2011), Watermaker, and many other recent upgrades, only add to her appeal.

||This Salar 40 has taken her owners on a trip of a lifetime, visiting countries and anchorages most people only dream of. She was built at a time when strength was paramount and speed wasn't everything. That said, she sails well under the heaviest of conditions and has provided a very safe platform for current owners, wherever they have travelled. Now time to hand over to other adventures and continue her journey.
She is located here in SE Qld so very easy for inspections.
Having been aboard for some time during the listing process, we have first hand knowledge on this yacht and would highly recommend inspection. A very complete file of images is also available on request.
If you would like further information, or to arrange an inspection, please contact Rob Devers on Mob: 0407112265 or email directly to rob@yachtdomain. Com as I will be delighted to assist.
