CATANA Catamarans break the myth that catamarans can't sail to windward. The design innovations including the asymmetrical hulls (with tulip bulbed bows), and retractable dagger-boards mean that a CATANA will point as well as some of the best monohulls.

As well as being finished to the highest standard, they are easily managed and are set-up to be sailed shorthanded, in many cases by a husband and wife team.

Many CATANA buyers are planning to embark on an extended cruise, want a yacht which will sail very well and appreciate the volume and comfort these vessels deliver. CATANA owners are a good measure of their success, with over 50% of them going on to buy another CATANA.

Accommodation
This is a 3 cabin Owner’s Version finished to the highest standard with Teak joinery and navy colour furnishings. The configuration of the accommodation is such that the starboard hull is totally dedicated to the owners and is also enclosable. This affords a great deal of privacy from the younger crew or the long list of emerging friends paying a visit. The initial impression of the accommodation is the size of the central entertaining area with the full width doors opening-up the saloon into the cockpit, to create one huge space. When staying aboard overnight the bimini covers can be lowered around the cockpit creating a very private second lounge. The light into the yacht removes the closeness often associated with boats when below, which is due to the huge portlights in the hulls. These windows are positioned on the sides of the hulls, are 1200mm x 400mm and allow a great deal of light and air into the accommodation. This positioning of the windows also removes obstacles from the deck. The owner's hull is impressive with master stateroom aft and the bathroom, which is positioned forward, is large enough to be another double cabin.
Shower
2 internal showers and cockpit shower
Galley
The galley is in the best possible position with double sliding glass doors leading to the cockpit, ensuring the saloon and cockpit are essentially one large entertaining space. The galley is positioned “up”, meaning even the designated cook can be part of the festivities. So often on a catamaran the galley is positioned down below in one of the hulls preventing everyone from being involved. The galley is finished with the best components; Force 10 gas oven & hob, huge refrigeration, microwave, an abundance of storage space and finished with Teak joinery and halogen lighting.

Sail Inventory
Spectra sails by Ullman, incl. Spinnaker with carbon bowsprit.
This yacht is set-up to be sailed shorthanded with genoa on furling system, mainsail with electric halyard winch, lazy bag and lazy jacks. All lines lead back to the cockpit including reefing lines - allowing full reefing from the cockpit.
Mast / Rigging
The carbon fibre mast is 19.5m high and has a white lacquered finish. The weight is further reduced with the shrouds, which are Kevlar. The running rigging runs below the wing deck, to an electric winch in the cockpit, which increases safety & reduces the clutter of ropes on deck.
Remarks
If you want a vessel capable of taking you safely, as far as you are capable of sailing, in refined comfort and without the need for a professional crew, the CATANA 43 will certainly impress.
