JANUARY 2013 PREMIERE
ELAN 400 - TECHNICALLY ADVANCED, SOPHISTICATED & VERSATILE SPORTS CRUISER

The most technically advanced Performance Sports Cruiser produced by Elan to date with design emphasis on fast windward and offwind sailing. For those who seek both comfort and luxury with true performance, she answers with smart sophistication.

The 400 inherits many great features from the Elan 350, the 2011 European Yacht of the Year, with Humphreys’ twin rudder technology masterfully harnessed for recreational craft.

FEATURES: plumb bow and prominent chined hull with a long water line of 11.26m in her hull length of 11.95m while the new style integrated GRP toe rail lends to the refined profile. The twin rudder concept allows the 3.87m beam to be carried aft to the transom, giving greater directional control and stability plus a very large working cockpit.

Choice of Club, Regatta or Cruising Rigs, Performance 'T’ keels for IRC or ORC1 and non-overlapping headsails with retractable bowsprit for codes (asymmetric), and spinnaker pole option for short windward leeward (symmetric). Plus there’s a German mainsheet system and Harken race inspired deck layout to ensure all is to hand plus designated life raft storage in the cockpit sole.

The interior with flush-hinged cabin doors and cabinetry without visible hardware displays smooth refined lines that enhance the visual volume. Plus there is a host of innovative concepts.

The new Elan 400 offers the sailor and family an exceptionally smart and technically advanced 40ft sailing yacht.
