The new generation of 17 footers from Key West Boats designed from the ground up with enough guts to handle the new heavier outboards, yet still nimble enough to run well with only 90hp. These new 17's are already some of the most popular boats we build with their big boat feel, and their small boat budget.
Not all US made boats are built the same. Very few have full foam flotation to unsinkable level. Those that do often have basic flotation which means capsizing and bobbing like a cork in the event of getting swamped, leaving you and your companions - wife, kids or mates in the water, struggling. Every Key West model is tested until they achieve Level Flotation before it is released to the market. This means the boat will not capsize when swamped and filled with water. You and your family or mates stay in the boat, safe.
