Overview
This boat will make a LOT of sense to so many of you. Easy walk around decks, solid build with great stability and shaft diesel power I found this Alaska 47 to be a boat that is going to appeal to boaters!
If you're an ex-sailor or a couple looking do do some serious liveaboard cruising you will absolutely see value in this. Likewise as a family day boat with absolutely everything you need and some of the best sun protection around this would be an ideal platform for summer holidays and Christmas lunch on the water.
This video takes you through a full walkthrough and offshore test drive, showing why this 47-footer (that feels closer to 55ft) has become one of the most sensible liveaboard designs in its class.
During our test in Moreton Bay, Australia, we put her through her paces:
-Inshore handling in wind chop
-Fuel burn at slow, fast, and wide-open throttle
-Stability and comfort at rest
-Docking and anchoring performance
-Real-world cruising range insights.
This boat isn’t about flash it’s about trust. A solid hull, simple systems, traditional shafts, and an honest, practical layout that just works.
