Marine Grade 5083-H116 aluminium is ideal for the construction of workboats, patrol boats to some of the world's largest high-speed Military vessels and now Modular Construction Barges

Like steel, aluminium has considerable ductility giving it the ability to withstand permanent deformation without rupture. It has one third the modulus of elasticity of steel and then can absorb the energy of an impact over a greater distance than steel

All customers demand vessels with proven performance to withstand the harsh Marine Environment. Marine Grade 5083-H116 delivers just that. High Strength with Low Weight and excellent corrosion resisting properties, the versatile benefits of aluminium's strength and weldability are well documented

The Stalwart Marine MB12000 Modular Barge System is constructed using High-Grade Marine Aluminium Plate 5083 - H116. All plate used is sourced from factories with Class Approval to BV, DNV, GL or ABS

Benefits + Features of Stalwart Marine's MB12000 System

Commercial Grade - Deck Loading 3 tonne per m²
Military Grade - Deck Loading 12 tonne per m²
Certification - Current vessels are designed and certified to AMSA 2E as standard. Stalwart Marine can also manufacture to ISO or Class through a society of choice.
Cost Effective - With the Stalwart Marine MB12000 System, even after 10 years of commercial use your investment will not have deteriorated in structural integrity. The expected resale value can be as high as 50% of the purchase price, even after 10 years. Maintenance costs over that period are virtually zero.

Steel, on the other hand, would be at the end of its commercial life with constant high maintenance costs. Resale value would be as low as 20% of the purchase price, and the estimated maintenance costs over 10 years could exceed the original purchase price.

Durability - We only use Marine Grade 5083-H116 plate certified to BV, DNV, ABS or other Class Societies. Modern 5083-H116 aluminium plate not only offers high strength, but also superior corrosion resistance in harsh ocean environments compared to steel.
Easy Assembly - These barges use the Stalwart Marine Bolt-Through System for assembly with standard tools and lifting equipment.
Superior Stability - As the modules bolt securely together, they create an extremely stable work platform compared to typical pin-together systems on the market.
Light Weight - Modules are easy to load, unload and assemble on site compared to steel, which is three times heavier. Most assembly can be carried out using a typical Franna-type crane.
Shipping Container Transportable - Modules fit into a standard 40ft HC shipping container.
Truck Transportable - These commercial-grade modules can be double stacked to 2.80 metres, within standard trucking gauge, while remaining within weight limits.
Maintenance - Aluminium requires significantly less maintenance compared to steel. There is no rusting, chipping, blasting or painting required. Steel barges typically demand constant and costly maintenance, whereas marine-grade aluminium barges eliminate these issues.
Shallow Draft - Aluminium is three times lighter than steel. This weight reduction decreases vessel draft, allowing operations in more locations and closer to shore.
Stackable - Bollards, anodes and spud chutes are flush-mounted, allowing modules to be safely stacked.
Modular System - The Stalwart Marine MB12000 System is a copyright-protected system.
Spud Chutes - Built in as a standard feature for the port and starboard modules.
Electrolysis Corrosion Protection - A water flow-through design allows water to pass between assembled barges, significantly reducing corrosion caused by module contact.
Anodes - Recessed to minimise damage.
Bollards - Recessed to allow stacking and clear deck movement.
