2008 Yanmar 4JH4 HTE 110hp diesel engine + ZF 30M gearbox

This is the engine that was in my Hans Christian HC 48 when I purchased the vessel 4 years ago.
I understand it was installed new in a refit completed in 2010/11
I have replaced it with a new Beta 90 as I did not want a turbocharged diesel engine
It has done 5100 hours & was regularly serviced.
It comes with the original installation manuals, wiring loom, & engine panel.
The last 2 photos show the engine in the boat just before it was removed.
I was able to locate my notes of my observations of the engine whilst it was running in the boat just prior to purchase. Keep in mind that I am NOT a qualified diesel mechanic and certainly NOT an expert in diesel engines. This my third sailboat with a diesel engine and my first sailboat with a turbo diesel. These observations were for the purpose of negotiating the final sale price with the vendor. As I knew that I was going to re-engine the vessel, other than a full service just prior to taking delivery, I did not follow up or make any further exploration of my observations.
These were my observations contemporaneously recorded at the time of purchase:
- Diesel pump appears ok, agent via phone call with vendor says pump and injectors serviced per Yanmar service intervals. Records??
- Turbocharger looks ok, possibly original? Do these have a life span?
- bad corrosion on salt water cooled aftercooler housing from leaking end caps
- sea water pump seal appears to be leaking
- rear main oil seal on engine appears to be weeping. There appears to be bit of oil in the bell housing through the inspection port.
- ?possible coolant leak from either the coolant pump and/or mounting gasket - maybe the 'O' ring. Some weeping - minor - from salt/coolant cooling system hoses.
Any purchaser will need to do their own due diligence, such as an inspection or arranging for a mechanic to inspect. I do not offer any warranties or guaranties as to the state of the engine other than it was running smoothly as it propelled me up the Port River to the Dockyard where it was then lifted on to the hardstand.
