Built in Fremantle. Proven in New Zealand surf.

Legend Boat Builders built Nor'Wester in 2003. She was purpose-built for a cray fisherman at Castlepoint, on NZ's Wairarapa coast. It's an exposed coast with no harbour. Boats run in through "The Gap". Then they come ashore onto a trailer on the beach.

She was built for exactly that.

Twin Scania diesels drive twin Hamilton Jet 322 units. She cruises at 20 knots. She tops out at 36. Her draft is just 0.7m. Shallow reef, white water and beach launches are what she's made for.

She's a slightly smaller sister to the Legend boat Legionaire, built for the same fishery. Both are known as very good sea boats.

The current owner has used her privately. Her February 2026 midterm survey found her in excellent condition inside and out, with no significant defects. Her survey was renewed in August 2026. It now runs to October 2028.

She's ready to fish. She's ready to charter. She's ready to work.

Remarks
LEGEND 46 TWIN JET CRAY & PASSENGER VESSEL - WA BUILT, READY TO COME HOME

Built by Legend Boat Builders in Fremantle in 2003, Nor'Wester is a purpose-built 14m twin-jet cray and passenger boat. She was built to New Zealand survey for cray fishermen at Castle Point, a rugged east-coast spot known for its hard conditions. She has proven herself a very capable sea boat.

Her current owner has used her privately and kept her immaculately maintained. At her February 2026 midterm survey, the surveyor found her in "excellent condition internally and externally", noting that the maintenance system "appears to be very well executed". She also completed a sea trial, where she "performed as expected".

Twin Scania DI12s and Hamilton 322 jets give her a 36 knot top speed and a 20 knot cruise. With just 0.7m draft, she's ideal for shallow reefs, lagoons and beach work. She has a hydraulic pot hauler, an 18-bin fish room and a large work deck, with comfortable accommodation for longer days on the water.

Ideal for Abrolhos and WA cray operators, charter and dive operators, or anyone wanting a fast, shallow-draft, go-anywhere workboat.

The vessel is located in New Zealand. Buyers intending to operate commercially in Australia will need to arrange AMSA domestic commercial vessel certification. Oceaneer Marine Brokers can assist with inspection, transport and survey enquiries.
