The race is on for Galilee. Built 1966 and named after the famous racehorse, this beaut dual-decked classic river cruiser could be a winner for you. Custom-built this traditional timber boat has been enveloped with a heavy-duty steel flat bottom hull by Veenstra Shipwrights ensuring a dry bilge and low maintenance. The hull is in good condition as there is no corrosion or stray electrolysis current at time of last Insurance risk assessment in May 2021. This vessel is also EPA wastewater and Gas compliant.
Galilee presents in good overall condition, though she would benefit from a little TLC from her next owner to restore her to her former glory. With her solid foundations and classic charm, she's an ideal project for someone looking to enjoy and preserve a true piece of river cruising history.
On boarding Galilee, you're greeted by generous sponson decks that allow you to walk easily around the entire vessel. Alloy handrails with bow, side, and stern entry gates make boarding simple and safe from any angle. The large stern and covered bow decks, complemented by a ladder leading to the upper shaded sundeck, provide plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing -- perfect for enjoying life on the river.
Entry is via the stern or starboard side door. The side entry accesses the forward saloon, with two day-night lounges, six-person booth style dining area, and a centre mounted forward helm. With panoramic windows you'll never miss a river view while underway.
Aft, you'll find the galley and two bunk-style sleeping cabins, offering comfortable accommodation for up to six people aboard. The galley is well-appointed and generously sized, equipped with a Chef four-burner stove, grill, and oven, large LG fridge/freezer, exhaust fan, pantry, and ample bench space, perfect for preparing meals.
The bathroom is fitted with a tiled shower, vanity cupboard, and marine flushing toilet, providing the essentials.
Current off grid electrics are 12V system only. Two new house batteries Sunyoba 120amp/hr, one 220W solar panel. One separate engine battery, solar & motor charged.
Propulsion is by a 1985 Volvo Penta AQAD30A four-cylinder 109Hp turbo diesel engine, with Hydrive steering, and stern leg drive. Two 200L fuel tanks allow for extended cruising.
