"Awhandra" Elegant very comfortable river boat

Awhandra is a very comfortable and spacious river cruiser. She has all the warmth and character of a timber vessel without the continued upkeep.

This elegant hull is built from NZ Kauri planking. It has been entirely sheathed in GRP and the propeller shaft is fitted with a PSS, ensuring a totally dry bilge and minimal overall maintenance.

Built approximately in 1928, this vessel underwent a total re-fit in 1981 at Greening's Marina, Mannum S. A. And was last slipped in 2020.

Awhandra has been kept in excellent condition by her current owner with many recent upgrades, including diesel heater, hot water, new prop and stern gland, internal honeycomb blinds for insulation and privacy, just to mention a few.

Offering all the comforts required for day tripping or extended cruising, she is equipped to berth 6 people.
Upon entry from the stern, you are greeted with a roomy afterdeck with ample seating and storage. Moving through to the spacious, light filled saloon there is the dinette and well-equipped galley; with the helm located on the port side mid-ship.

As you make for the bow, there is a bathroom with shower, vanity, and head. Also forward are bunk beds, and a double 'V' berth.

A quiet, soft mounted Thornycroft marine diesel 36Hp motor returns excellent economy of only 1.5 to 2Lt per hour while cruising.

Gas, electrical, and wastewater compliant. Four x 100Lt diesel fuel tanks, 300Lt black water storage, 200Lt fresh water storage (currently not used), this turnkey riverboat is all ready to go for the next owners.
