Moondarra has just been antifoul and prop speed applied. Request OOW photos or arrange an inspection and make an offer.

Full refit from 2009 to 2021. Must inspect to appreciate the engineering, value, quality and layout.

MV Moondarra is an ideal coastal and long range expedition vessel that would be very comfortable cruising to the Kimberleys.

She is a strong, comfortable, stable, low maintenance, long-range, steel cruising vessel. Galvanised from waterline up.

Moondarra was built as a trawler but never used as a trawler. Until 2006 she had little use. Other than the hull and engine (with only 1,300 hrs), everything used in the refit from 2009 until 2021 is new.

Moondarra is unique as in the past she was a triple screw vessel. She still maintains two auxiliary keels (same depth as main keel) and auxiliary stern tubes.

The previous owner has galvanised the vessel above the waterline which significantly reduces surface rust appearing. She is also protected by Wattyl 2 Pac primers, direct to metal, undercoat and Poly U 400 topcoat with Wattyl Sea Pro antifoul.

316 stainless steel has been used extensively throughout the refit.

Ceilings are fitted with low maintenance LamiPanel, the walls in the forward and master cabin are 17mm construction ply with doubled-sided Lami-Panel.

In 2019 Rogers and Lough fitted port and starboard winged, folding stabilisers which almost negate any sideways roll whilst underway or at anchor.

Other comfort and safety features include:
o a walk-around engine room;
o walk-around decks;
o queen island bed and ensuite in master cabin;
o spacious, well-appointed and practical galley;
o large back deck living area with flexible side cover options;
o expansive storage throughout; and
o Victron, Raymarine and ICOM instruments used extensively.

MV Moondarra is a comfortable, safe, long-range cruiser with low maintenance requirements.

Remarks
During the refit a 1.3m extension was made to the wheelhouse. This extension provided a separate shower, laundry and storage 'shed'. Strengthening frames were added to the shower ceiling to support the Hiab crane above. The deck eaves were extended to the rails and a wheelhouse facia added. All extensions were made in 316 stainless steel.

All ceiling and wall panels are removable to allow access to inside of the hull. A large wheelhouse floor hatch was installed to allow access for building materials and the mattress to the lower deck.

In 2021 high quality carpet was laid in forward and master cabins, stairs and wheelhouse.

Original boat plans are available to view.

A 2021 insurance survey is available on request.
