TAKE A LOOK AT THIS ONE!! NOT YOUR ORDINARY CLIPPER 34
Clipper 34 flybridge. Full keel / running gear protected. A must for Queensland's waters.
Full walk around and shade, with opening gate onto large duckboard.
This vessel is owned by a very switched on young tradesman / businessman who has very high standards when it comes to his boating.
There is so much that has been done to this boat, that is far and away above what most boat owners do.
One of the big ones was to remove the boat from the water and epoxy fill and fibreglass the chines forward to eliminate to sound of the slapping when the boat is at rest. GREAT IDEA. Professionally done and costly as well. Great benefit for the new owner.
While the boat was out of the water it was handed over to R L Marine Engineers here in Brisbane and the following work was carried out -
NEW prop shaft
NEW shaft coupling
NEW drip-less PSS seal
NEW prop bearing
NEW main engine mounts
NEW rudder bearings
NEW Stainless fabricated main engine exhaust mixer fitted
Prop was re-tuned and pitched correctly to the main engine
Main engine realigned professionally
Servicing carried out by Marine Diesel [Steve Shale]
All of the above along with new electronics
Not to mention the new compliant Lithium 600 amp hour battery installation
Did I forget to tell you about the Vetus bow and stern thrusters?
NEW clears recently fitted
Cruise Air airconditioning

So what else makes this boat so special? THE HORSE POWER!!
Sensibly we have a 6 cyl 220 HP Cummins engine. That is the making of this boat..... Normally a vessel such as this would have circa 120 to 130 HP which would get the boat to cruise comfortably at around 7 knots. Not with this engine. *8 KNOTS plus is the norm with this engine configuration, and the engine is not working hard. If you talk to commercial skippers they have a saying, 'Good horse power makes for a good sea boat'. I am completely in agreeance with that. I have been boating all my life and I won't own a boat that is under powered.
The engine space has been regularly maintained by Steve Shale of Marine Diesel here in Brisbane. He has been my engineer and engine supplier for years. They dont come any better.
The engine space is large for a vessel of this size. Very clean and well laid out. No engineer wants to work in a space where they are fighting the boat.
The Clipper 34 suits a range of buyers. Those wishing to down size into a more manageable motor vessel. Also those wishing to go from sail to motor and still have a boat that will handle coastal conditions.
It also suits those folks with younger children or grandchildren, who want the safety of a high bulwark and protected aft cockpit to keep them safely on board.
SO, to sum up, and being a boat owner myself - I can assure you that the best boat to buy is one that someone else has done the work on, and spent the big money on to get the vessel to where it is turnkey and confidently ready to use.
Priced below the mark at $278,000.00 for the vessel's condition, model and low hours.
Please phone Jim Stuart on to arrange an inspection.
