HAVING OPERATED IN AMSA SURVEY, this proven ocean-going cruiser under its current long-term ownership, the Cresta 46 Flybridge "Go" has benefited hugely from various upgrades including a repower in 2003. The vessel's current owner has cared for the vessel for nearly 25 years and is famously known as one of Tasmania's best marine mechanics, which is clearly reflected in the impressive mechanical condition of this vessel. Well regarded as a very capable sea-going vessel, "Go" has a set of large outriggers for offshore fishing adventures and an enormous cork-decked cockpit to provide excellent working space on deck.
The interior boasts a spacious and comfortable saloon with excellent seating for at least 10 on two L-shape lounges to port and starboard while a loose folding timber table provides a great option for dining and a large 43" Hisense TV gives entertainment. The saloon has benefited hugely from ALL NEW CARPET, SEATING AND CURTAINS during the current ownership. The first of three helm stations sits forward of the port lounge, featuring a Raymarine chart plotter and a great array of switchgear. Vision out from this area is excellent with few mullions and deep windows. The galley is situated down a few easy steps from the saloon, all the while remaining in touch with the common space thanks to a partially cut-out ceiling, sharing airspace with the saloon area. The galley itself is well laid out with plenty of bench space and amenities, such as a 4-burner induction cooktop, large domestic-size fridge/freezer and a microwave. A washer/dryer machine is set below the fridge, allowing for extended cruising in comfort.
The accommodation is generous and begins with a double master cabin situated to port, adjacent of the galley. With plenty of open floor space and a forward-facing berth, this cabin is extremely comfortable. A private ensuite services the master, featuring a head, shower and vanity with basin. The guest cabin sits forward in the bow, comprising of four single bunk berths, with access to a second head with toilet, shower and vanity.
Access to the engine room can be found underneath the floor in the saloon, revealing the impressive mechanical space. Repowered in 2003 by the current owner with a pair of Cummins 535hp QSM11's, now with approximately 4,600 hours, "Go" is well suited for long passages and extended cruising with 3,300L of diesel on board. A NEW ISUZU 9Kva generator was installed in 2018, while a Stella water maker produces 75L/hr. A solar charging system has been fitted to the vessel in conjunction with a Victron solar charger. All 240V wiring has been replaced and the keel has been professionally lengthened to provide better sea-keeping characteristics.
The cockpit is expansive with cork decking and great storage. An in-built fridge/freezer unit sits forward and to starboard underneath the flybridge staircase, adding to the exceptional cold storage capacity on board. Opposite and to port is a sink and gas BBQ. A low-level boarding platform is mounted on the stern, while a stern door provides easy access through the tall cockpit sides. Next to the flybridge staircase is a second helm station with engine controls.
The flybridge has been converted to be fully enclosed for better all-weather usability and durability, providing superior visibility out and on deck. The helm is comprehensive with a vast array of Raymarine electronics, two radars, autopilot and more! Forward of the helm is a large U-shape lounge that can easily provide seating for at least 6. A domestic-style chest freezer and ice maker have been installed here also. On deck, wide sides and plenty of hand holds mean moving fore and aft is safe, while an expansive foredeck with excellent freeboard provides storage for the tender and davit.
Under its current ownership with one of Tasmania's best-known and highly regarded marine mechanics, "Go" presents a brilliant opportunity to own a capable vessel that is truly ready to cruise extended distances. Having been in AMSA Survey until only recently, a host of upgrades over the long-term current ownership and a healthy amount of preventative maintenance, this vessel is a great package.
