Princess has undergone a major overhaul, almost an entire rebuild including the burn off years of paint on her hull all racked out all the hull seams above and below the water line. Above the water line she has been Cleaned out rivet holes along the entire length of the hull with a chisel Glued all rivet holes and seams above water line Sanded, filled and faired hull Glassed hull above water line sanded, filled and faired hull and painted with 2 pac paint Below waterline racked seams and cleaned rivet holes Primed and sick flexed seams and rivet holes and used approx 120 tubes of siccoflex
TO THE DECK
Removed old deck and replaced it by screwing and gluing marine ply Glassed deck Screwed and glued teak deck gunnels to deck Replaced cabin sides, supports with mahogany we also lengthened windows and extended roof line by approx 450 ml Replaced roof lining with painted cedar match board Layer ply wood on top of roof and glassed entire roof
Replaced handrails, bow rail with stainless all other fittings and portholes have been crommed Installed new mahogany galley and cupboards throughout and installed Adelaide black granite to bench tops Glassed entire shower/toilet cubicle and replaced new toilet and shower Installed new fuel, grey water, black water tanks under seating Rewired entire boat to run solar panels/fridge new Gage's Installed new bi fold doors to rear of boat Installed new jarrah floor thru entire boat New gas lines, gas locker to meet current regulations
Replaced upholstery thru boat Installed honeycomb blinds to windows and hatch Replaced head to existing motor "............ 12 coats Alwood gloss to cabin exterior 1 coat takes approx 3 hours per coat Decks oiled with Alwood Hull is painted 2 pak White Interior has 12 Coates gold spa Matt each coat takes approx 8 hours per coat. 160 hours per month for 12 months 1000 hours captain Sturt marina 2900 hours Craig Total job approx 4000 over 18 months......... PRINCESS took approx 18 months to complete the renovations and during that time we were fortunate enough to have lots of people/ trades who share our passion for wooden boats, without there commitment PRINCESS would not have turned out as beautiful as she has.
