The 1969/2016 Feadship 84' Motor Yacht 'Monara' has now SOLD.
'Monara' is a classic gentleman's motor yacht with unparalleled attention to detail seen throughout her build. In 2016, she benefitted from a complete rebuild at Feadship's yard in Makkum and is a proud member of Feadship's Heritage Fleet. Feadship's refit department worked closely with the owner's team to make the necessary updates and upgrades. Her classic lines give her a touch of character and plenty of elegance. Her trademark clipper bow, canoe stern and welded steel hull and superstructure make her stand out on the water.
Boarding 'Monara' is via a stylish gangway, leading you onto a classic canoe stern that unveils an inviting teak-laid aft deck beneath the extended top deck. This exclusive space features a built-in U-shaped settee aft, designed to comfortably accommodate 12 guests around an extendable teak-varnished wood table. Five teak chairs, an icemaker, and a drinks fridge complement the seating, ensuring all needs are catered for. 'Monara' offers versatility with a fully enclosed main deck, providing complete shelter for those who prefer exterior dining.
There is no need to worry about how to access the water; during her reconstruction, a hydraulic swim platform was seamlessly integrated into the starboard side, allowing effortless entry to both the tender and water, as well as providing convenient side boarding access.
Upon entering 'Monara' from the aft deck through the automatic opening teak Arctic doors, guests are welcomed into a spacious main saloon characterized by its expansive oak and upholstery finishes. An L-shaped settee graces the port side, offering a comfortable and inviting seating area, while opposite stands a full-length cabinet housing a built-in Hi/Lo TV. This cabinet also includes an icemaker and drinks fridge, serving both the aft deck and the main saloon. Aft to port, a staircase leads to the guest cabins, and forward on the starboard side, adjacent to the dining area, is access to the master cabin. The main saloon boasts a unique feature - a glass panel in the floor, providing a captivating view of the beautifully restored Gardner main engines. The engine room lighting is cleverly adapted to offer ambient lighting that gracefully flows into the saloon during the evenings. 'Monara' seamlessly combines its timeless pedigree with an excellent layout, ensuring the utmost comfort and flexibility for its guests.
Situated opposite the dining table on starboard, the semi-open galley aboard 'Monara' boasts a comprehensive set of amenities, including a 4-plate induction hob, oven/microwave, dishwasher, and a generously sized refrigerator. The galley's design incorporates a distinctive "Dutch door, " offering the convenience of direct access to the main deck. The worktop is elegantly finished with black granite and brushed stainless steel, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
This fully-equipped galley is strategically located to port, presenting a unique configuration that provides direct access to both the engine room and the master cabin from the dining room. This arrangement effectively separates the guest cabins on the lower deck from the master cabin, creating a central space for the engine room and affording the master cabin extra privacy.
All cabins and the saloon feature a PC-based entertainment system, providing access to a diverse range of movies, TV shows, and music. Beyond conventional entertainment, the system allows guests and crew to view the mast, aft deck cameras, and special stern and bow underwater cameras, offering a view of the ocean world below. The vessel is equipped with a sophisticated "Sonos" sound system in the saloon, pilot house, aft deck and upper deck. This system enables versatile remote control via the Sonos controller, PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone, allowing synchronized music playback or separate choices and volumes in different areas. For added convenience, an iPod docking station is available in the saloon.
Accessible through the saloon by ascending a set of stairs or via two convenient "Dutch doors" on either side, her helm station provides a seamless connection between the interior and main deck. Beyond its primary navigational function, the bridge offers a secondary saloon featuring two raised L-shaped settees and tables, ensuring a space where guests can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding seascape. An innovative feature of the helm station is its ability to conceal all bridge and navigation equipment electrically, creating a streamlined and uncluttered appearance. This meticulous design is a result of an extensive rebuild, transforming the helm station into a neat and clean area while preserving the charm of the original steering wheel, engine controls and compass, maintaining a clean and true connection to 'Monara's rich maritime history.
Nestled just forward of the dining room down a set of stairs is the full-beam master cabin, featuring a queen-size bed, a built-in desk, and a comfortable settee surrounded by large drawers, including a locker cabinet, ensuring ample storage space. A highlight of the master cabin is the expansive walk-in wardrobe, providing plenty of space for all your wear. Four extra large hull windows flood the cabin with natural light. The ensuite door is adorned with Priva-Lite glass, enhancing the cabin's brightness and privacy with the touch of a button. Complete with a walk-in shower, toilet with his and hers sinks and two hull windows for sea views. The master cabin's entertainment system is equipped with an LED TV hidden behind a one-way mirror, ensuring a clutter-free space when not in use. The cabin's superior AV system, including a subwoofer under the bed, delivers an immersive audio experience, and music is available even in the bathroom!
Accessed through the aft portside staircase in the main saloon, you descend to the guest cabins. The VIP cabin, positioned at aft, boasts a double bed and private ensuite, providing a private retreat for discerning guests. An additional twin port and starboard guest cabins, equipped with the flexibility to quickly transform into either two single beds or double beds, catering to the occupants' preferences. A shared bathroom at midship conveniently serves both twin guest cabins. All LED TVs within the guest cabins are discreetly hidden behind one-way mirrors, leaving them completely out of sight when switched off. This arrangement ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay, perfectly tailored to the size and sophistication of 'Monara'.
Accessible through the foredeck "doghouse", the crew quarters on 'Monara' provide a functional and well-designed space for the onboard staff. The crew area comprises two cabins, each equipped with two superposed beds. Notably, the port cabin features an upper bed that can be extended to form a double bed, ensuring flexible accommodation options. A generously sized crew shower and toilet with ample storage cater to the crew's comfort and convenience. Below the crew quarters, a spacious storage area houses essential equipment, including a large Samsung Washing Machine and Samsung Drying Machine, two freezers, and ample storage for necessities. The crew enjoys convenient access to the foredeck, where this area also serves as the dedicated storage space for the Highfield 3.9M RIB complete with the FEEBE 750kg hydraulic davit, keeping it discreetly separated from guest spaces.
Ascending the stairs from the aft deck leads to the expansive upper deck of 'Monara'. Stretching from the aft to the forward section, this versatile space can be fully covered or left open, provided by the high-tension shade sails. LED directional spots integrated into the supports illuminate the shade sails to enjoy the upper deck amenities under the night sky. The aft sun deck features a large 10-person U-shaped seating area, with a dining table that transforms into a spacious sun pad when lowered. Moving towards the midship, traditionally reserved for tenders, this area has been transformed into an inviting L-shaped lounge sofa with a coffee table and two fauteuils that offer a cozy retreat. Continuing upward, an additional 8-person sun pad atop the bridge includes a sink and a retractable gas BBQ, perfect for entertaining. The upper deck also features two fridges, one wine fridge, and a wetpoint with hot/cold water. The Sonos music system comprises 8 x 250-watt speakers and a built-in 1000-watt subwoofer. Overall, her upper deck offers a harmonious blend of relaxation, entertainment, and breathtaking views.
The entrance via the staircase forward of the dining room also provides a pathway to a Sonic Pro Freezer and direct access to the engine room. At the heart of 'Monara', the engine room underwent a comprehensive rebuild during her 2016 refit, introducing new systems for enhanced performance. The original 230hp Gardner 8L3B's engines, the pride and jewel of 'Monara', received a full rebuild in 2016, complete with a special two-component paint, chromed details, and polished copper piping. The original Gardner engines, celebrated for their quiet operation and minimal vibrations, stand as a testament to the owner's pride. To further showcase these remarkable engines, a glass panel in the floor, visible from the dining room and main saloon, allows an awe-inspiring view directly onto the meticulously maintained engines. The engine room is equipped with a comprehensive toolkit, including specialised Gardner tools, a convenient workbench, MATN Zero-Speed electric stabilisers to ensure comfort underway, and two large generators catering to onboard power requirements while her electric battery autonomy allows her to stay completely silent overnight. The engine room layout is designed for accessibility, with easy reach to all systems, thereby minimizing maintenance and repair costs. The engine room of 'Monara' is a testament to both functionality and appreciation for the vessel's remarkable power and engineering.
