ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED - A beautiful lady seeks a new owner
OWNER WANTS A SALE
This is a lovely example of a mid 1900's cruiser. Professionally built by Holmes Builders in Sydney and launched in 1943,"Lauriana" is designed for comfort and safety. Regular and extensive maintenance has this boat in great condition.
HISTORY:
Lauriana was originally used as the radio relay vessel for the CYCA Sydney-Hobart, from 1952 well into the 1960s, back when marine radios were less powerful. There are also stories around that suggest that she was built during WWII and to stop her being seized by the Australian Navy, the owners secreted her away in a shed until it was safe for her to cruise.
DESCRIPTION:
She is a single bilge keel, with spotted gum frames, the decks have marine ply with glass over. From first stepping onto this boat, the spaciousness keeps on going... "and-there's-more" type feeling'. Definitely ample room for the whole family or two couples to enjoy an extended trip around the islands.
From a roomy rear deck there are steps heading upwards to the wheel house (with 2 single quarter-berths, skipper's station, chart area etc). Alternatively, you can take the steps downwards to a centre cabin area with a toilet with h/b on the port side and opposite is a seperate shower. Moving forward there are two upper bunks on each side with plenty of storage underneath (or optional space for two more lower bunks), before stepping up to the bright and spacious saloon and galley. The saloon boasts a dinette, which will comfortably seat 4, timber benches, TV and lots of storage. The adjoining galley has a microwave, eutectic fridge/freezer, and double s/s sink with great bench space, something many boats lack.
From the galley, step down to the forward V-berth double cabin.
The majority of the interior is lined with traditional timber and white panelling with off-white upholstry.
MAINTENANCE:
Maintenance includes replacing timbers and beams and strengthening ribbing, with new hull skin; the window linings removed and new glass and panelling installed; engine maintained and serviced; new timber hatches 2019; new bilge pump wiring (2022); new s/s davits 2019, and more.
Excellent access to forward deck with great walk-around on both sides, plus s/steel tube hand rail/safety rail and s/steel stanchions.
ARRANGE AN INSPECTION
"Lauriana" is a wonderful timber vessel looking for her new owner. Please phone or call into 6A Plume St to arrange an inspection.
