SAVANAH J was designed by the talented Simon Jupe (HYS Yachts) as the ideal long-range, efficient and easily-handled cruising yacht, to cross oceans and explore the far corners of the planet in utmost safety and comfort. Her original, experienced owners had a hand in every design detail and the result exceeded all expectations. Her current owner has further distilled this incomparable design, drawing on 30 years of cruising and racing experience (including multiple Sydney-Hobart campaigns), adding numerous modifications to arrive at his 'best-ever' yacht.

Safety and comfort were paramount in her design. The AXE design keels allow her to cut efficiently through a seaway and minimise any slamming or pitching, while getting optimum fuel efficiency.

SAVANAH J's shallow draft enables her to anchor closer to the beach than other vessels, reducing the risk of midnight anchor chain tangles with other boats, and affording better protection from wind and swell. When entering a marina, SAVANAH J's handheld Yacht contoller remote control mooring system allows the skipper to walk around the deck while operating the drive system and powerful thrusters simultaneously.

Inside, the bridge has full weather protection, great visibility and a comfortable sea berth. Perfect for short-handed cruising by a couple or family, the skipper (and mate!) can relax in the knowledge there are numerous safety redundancies on board, including a comprehensive Simrad electronics suite, multiple chart plotters, autopilots and steering assistance. Twin 200HP John Deere engines are dependable and simple to service (with a range of 3500NM at 8 kn). There are two generators and duplicates of other critical navigation, communication and safety features.

The sensibly-designed living and entertaining areas have the feeling of a spacious apartment or a much bigger boat - perfect for living aboard.

Accommodation consists of 3 cabins: a huge main deck Master suite with a king-sized island bed; and another two guest cabins, both with queen berths. The two, apartment-size bathrooms are spacious and light-filled, with vacu-flush toilets, full-size showers and sinks. With the 100 l/h water maker, everyone can enjoy the comforts of home!

When it comes to entertaining, the safe-at-sea galley layout and inclusions are brilliant, with a four-burner gas stove; full-size domestic gas oven with electric grill; and a full-size, two-door, upright household fridge/freezer. No more diving into countertop chest fridges! There's plenty of storage for food, equipment and toys, too.

On the same level as the galley and interior living areas, the huge aft deck is shaded and rainproof, with a beautiful teak folding table seating 8, and BBQ.
