Lycrest 48 Aft Cabin - Sensational livaboard and coastal cruiser Just Listed

If you are finding it hard to secure a rental, or if you are moving back from overseas due of world events and have nowhere to stay, making a sea change and living on a luxury boat could be a very practical option. The Lycrest 48,'Lady Ellen', is one vessel that truly offers liveaboard comfort and while still being very capable of coastal cruising.

The overall layout of The Lycrest 48 is ergonomically friendly. Her wide decks and companionways make moving around the boat safe and simple. A side door from the lower helm also gives you quick access to the foredeck if you need to grab a line in a hurry.

There are four main levels on board. The flybridge helm area has enough seating for a handful of people, so the skipper will always have company. The rear deck is the main living area and likely the place where you will spend most of your time on board. It is an alfresco space with a massive BBQ and lounges. On cooler evenings, you can roll down the clear screens and turn on the heater to create a cosy semi-outdoor area overlooking the water.

The main saloon is set up for relaxing and watching the massive TV. The galley sits toward the bow and down a couple of stairs, creating an almost mezzanine-style layout - still keeping a good connection to the saloon. With all these spaces, it is easy to find some peace and quiet or entertain a crowd. Because the levels are linked by stairs rather than ladders, even those with slightly limited mobility should find her easy to move around.

Three cabins and three ensuites are a rare find on a boat of this size. The real highlight is the full width master stateroom at the rear, which is also the quietest and most comfortable place to sleep. It features a queen size bed, hanging cupboards, and plenty of natural light and ventilation. A private ensuite includes a vanity and separate shower stall. The two guest cabins provide four single berths, and the breakfast dining table also converts into an extra bed. Two families could comfortably stay on board.

Twin Caterpillar 3208 shaft drive engines move her along at an economical 11 knot cruise - sprint speeds to 18 knots. A generator powers the 240VAC systems, and this is supported by solar, lithium, and an inverter to provide 240V power without needing to run the genset.
