The Riviera 4000 Offshore was Australian "Boat of the Year in 1998 and the first sedan model in the Riviera range not to include a flybridge.
Australia's Modern Boating magazine wrote: "Riviera broke the mould, so to speak, when it released the low profile 4000 Offshore sports cruiser". Trade-A-Boat described her as "the Porsche Boxster of the bluewater". The reviewer continued: "this boat offers more usable, better integrated space than many closed door boats with rarely used saloons and tiny outdoor living areas"
