This beautiful Riviera 53 is fully equipped with pretty much every available option. She was designed for cruising across the top of Australia and back to Fremantle, the second of such journeys carried out by her current owners on a Riviera.

The Riviera 53 is a true three cabin boat with one of the most amazing master staterooms. Spanning the full beam of the boat (About 5m) with two large hull windows, the master berth is a king size with a view!! To port is access to a private ensuite with separate shower stall while on the starboard side of the bed is a walk in robe. At 6ft 6" in height, the ceiling of this cabin is way over my head - it's built for giants!

The guest cabin is certainly no compromise either featuring a queen berth and an ensuite which doubles as the day head. This is also shared with the third cabin guests. If you find you want to take more friends then the flybridge can be regarded as a cabin in its own right. Put up the window shades, lower the table and all of a sudden you have another 'honeymooners' double with a kitchenette.

The helm has two Pompanette skippers chairs, arguably the most comfortable you can buy. And when you are cruising the miles this boat was designed for, a comfortable chair is critical!

If you are into entertaining, then let's talk about the livng areas. A rear galley larger than mine at home features underbench drawer style fridges and freezers, steam oven and electric hob with an incredible amount of bench space for food preparation plus overhead storage. It's centrally located between the cockpit and saloon linked byt the hopper window so you are always part of the conversation. Large windows provide everyone inside the saloon with a great view, even when seated. There are leather lounges to port and starboard, a very social layout. Opposite the galley are stairs providing safe internal access to the flybridge.

She is extremely easy to handle with twin heavy duty Volvo Penta IPS 950 drives with joystick controls and optioned with the remarkable Digital Positioning System 'DPS' which holds the vessel in position at the press of a button. Great for short handed trips. Being pod drives the engines, gyro and genset live under the expansive rear deck. When it comes time to access the plant room, a press of a button raises the floor providing incredible access. Your mechanic will love it!

The smooth and quiet operation of the Pod Drive system is noticeable. At the flybridge helm you can barely hear the engines running, even at cruise speeds. A vast improvement over the shaft drives and above water exhausts most of us are more familiar with.

'On The edge' is fitted with the Seakeeper Gyro Stabiliser enabling you to cruise even at low speed in absolute comfort. They also operate when at rest so you can 'get some rest' while at anchor, even on the most uncomfortable of nights.

The flybridge helm is a work of art boasting 16" Raymarine electronic Touch Screen displays, everything at your fingertips. In fact not only can you navigate from here but the vessels whole electrical systems can be controlled via a C Zone display from the bridge or saloon. Just two touches of the screen and you can switch from Dockside to Entertaining or Cruising modes, automatically switching systems on or off depending on how you have chosen to program it.

The rear deck is typical of most of the new range of Rivieras - Enormous!! A mezzanine level gives you a fantastic vista protected from the breeze. A beautifully crafted stainless steel framed hopper window connects you to the galley. Complimenting the internal refrigeration, the cockpit seat hides a large coolbox and another unit is located to starboard. Plenty of refrigeration to cope with a long range adventure or extended stay at the island.

Moulded into the transom is a BBQ module with two electric grills and sink. On The Edge was also optioned with a live bait tank.

The transom door opens onto a hydraulic swim platform which could hold a jet ski or additional tender. While we are on the subject, a 350kg davit system is located on the bow to launch and retrieve the Brig Rigid Inflatable also included in this amazing package.
