Alexander Marine Australia are pleased to present the 1997/2023 Salthouse 22m Raised Pilothouse Motor Yacht 'Belize' to the market as worldwide central agents.

Constructed by renowned Salthouse Boatbuilders New Zealand, to an Ed Monk Jr. Design, 'Belize' is an all-aluminium motor yacht with a proven and extensive Pacific cruising history. She has completed multiple expeditions between New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia, demonstrating her capability across extended passages. Her exterior profile presents flawlessly courtesy of the Awlgrip Awlcraft 2000 two-pak paint finish. She reflects the quality and custom approach of her Salthouse heritage, with an extensive fit-out tailored to her intended use. Held in long-term family ownership for 20 years and professionally crewed & operated throughout her life, 'Belize' has also benefited from regular upgrades and refit works, further enhancing her presentation, systems and overall capability.

Stepping aboard via the teak-laid swim platform, 'Belize' immediately presents a well-appointed outdoor living area. Access into the cockpit is provided from both port and starboard off the swim platform, with the teak-laid deck continuing throughout the spacious cockpit beneath a forward-facing bench seat and beautiful custom-built high-gloss timber table. There is also room for additional loose deck chairs when entertaining. Additionally, a hull-side access door to starboard provides convenient access for side loading provisions or guests onboard.

Moving inside, the saloon provides a comfortable and inviting central living space, featuring a lounge to port and additional chairs to starboard, arranged to make the most of her timeless interior. To starboard, a dining area with bench seating creates a comfortable space for meals and entertaining, while a Samsung 31" TV is positioned to port. She also benefits from LaunchPort sound system throughout and Cruisair air conditioning, providing entertainment and climate control across the vessel. Starlink satellite internet provides connectivity onboard. Together, these features give 'Belize' a well-considered combination of comfort, technology and practicality.

Forward and to starboard, the galley is positioned up on the pilothouse level and is comprehensively equipped for extended time aboard. Appliances include a Bosch gas cooktop, Miele dishwasher and Bertazzoni convection oven, microwave and steamer, complemented by a Kenmore trash compactor and WasteMaid WasteMaster sink. Opposite the galley are two custom under-counter 199L fridges, providing substantial cold storage for provisions. Additional remote fridge and freezer capacity can be found in the pilothouse and accommodation level.

The raised pilothouse is the operational heart of 'Belize', combining excellent visibility with an extensive navigation and communications suite. The helm features two new Furuno 16" MFDs, Furuno Commercial NavPilot 1000 autopilot, Furuno Fishfinder, Furuno FI-70 repeater, four Raymarine/Furuno Data Repeaters, and a Furuno GPS/WAAS Navigator. Communications equipment includes a Raymarine Ray430 loudhailer and intercom, Icom VHF, while twin Caterpillar engine data displays provide essential propulsion information. A Norsap helm chair provides comfort for the captain, with pilothouse doors to port and starboard providing convenient access out onto the side decks. Access to the flybridge from the pilothouse further enhances the flow between the interior helm and upper deck.

As previously mentioned, the pilothouse also incorporates a custom top-opening 300L fridge beneath the seating, adding further cold storage capacity. Naiad fin stabilisers provide stability underway, while the hydraulic bow thruster and wired Koblet docking remote assist with controlled manoeuvring around the marina and in close quarters. Two engine room CCTV cameras also allow the machinery space to be monitored from the pilothouse.

Access to the lower deck is via the staircase to port opposite the galley. 'Belize' offers a three-guest and one-crew cabin accommodation layout. The full-beam midship master cabin features a queen island bed, LG 24" TV and private ensuite, creating a comfortable private retreat for the owners. The starboard guest cabin is arranged with side-by-side single beds and a private ensuite. The two forward cabins can be utilised for either guests or crew, with both cabins configured with a single berth. A separate bathroom with a separate shower stall to port serves as a day head and also services the two forward cabins. A Miele washer/dryer combination is conveniently located on the lower accommodation level in the hallway, together with the previously mentioned custom front-opening 246L freezer providing additional cold storage for extended time aboard.

Moving up to the flybridge, 'Belize' opens out into an expansive teak-laid entertaining and operational space. The generous deck provides room to move around the upper helm, tender and seating areas, with a sun bed offering a comfortable spot to relax while underway or at anchor, with substantial storage beneath providing a practical space for storing additional gear and equipment. A Bimini provides shade across the front of the flybridge, while the aft boat deck carries a late-model Southern Pacific 4.2m RIB powered by a Mercury 40hp outboard, and storage for a kayak. The tender is launched via a substantial Besenzoni 450kg crane. The upper helm provides a second command station and is equipped with a Furuno 12" MFD, Furuno Commercial NavPilot 1000 autopilot, Raymarine depth/speed display and Raymarine i60 wind display.

Back in the cockpit, the teak-laid side decks lead forward towards the Portuguese bridge and expansive foredeck. The extensive external teak decking adds a sense of luxury throughout, while the foredeck offers additional usable exterior space. Ground tackle is handled by an 80kg/176lb stainless steel Bruce anchor and a 29kg/65lb stainless steel Fortress anchor, deployed via a Maxwell hydraulic 4500 vertical windlass with 16mm galvanised chain.

Access to the engine room is provided via a watertight door against the bulkhead of the saloon to starboard off the cockpit, opening down into a substantial machinery space featuring twin Caterpillar 3176B engines producing 600hp each. Power generation is provided by Onan 22.5kW and Onan 27.5kW generators (new in 2015), giving 'Belize' substantial onboard power capacity. The separate lazarette is accessed via a cockpit hatch and provides additional machinery and storage space, including storage of a significant quantity of spare parts and a Hoshizaki ice maker.
