ELITE FORCE MARINE are extremely excited and proud to present the SALTHOUSE 68 'Summersalt' What an amazing, immaculate, customised one owner vessel. Only four built in total and this is the first one to come to market in Australia. The second last Salthouse 68 that was completely built and launched by the Salthouse factory. Sea trials were completed in New Zealand in late 2009 and a full shakedown performed by the factory and the owner prior to being shipped to Perth in April 2010.

I saw this magnificent vessel being constructed at the Salthouse factory in 2009 and I must admit to being very impressed with the amount of thought and expertise and customisation that went into this build by the owner. He really set a very high benchmark. It is thought that this hull started its construction as a future 75' vessel therefore it has nearly double the balsa core thickness which now results in a amazingly quiet ride both underway and at rest. At rest there is no lapping when at anchor and that will appeal to a lot of people.

Boarding Summersalt you are instantly aware you are on something special. Your eyes are drawn firstly to the alfresco area which is large and inviting. Its connection to the galley is via a large electric window and portable servery bench which makes a huge amount of sense.
Once that has sunk in you look back towards the transom to think 'Hold on that whole transom folds down to a swim platform' Very clever.
Then there is the size of the eutectic refrigeration units both in the cockpit and under the alfresco seating, the retractable electric cleats that make skippering this large volume boat solo departure very easy. Portside rear there is a electric winch which can help when laying a stern anchor. Two transom showers, an outside toilet which is a totally separate system and holding tank to the forward accommodation toilets. Next to the toilet is the laundry with separate washer/dryer The other built in on the starboard side is the BBQ and Miele hotplate.

About now I think it is time to state that there are numerous functions on this vessel that have been doubled up on. Like the above toilet set up there has been things like two desalinators, two gensets, two freshwater pumps, two anchors, two anchor winches, two air con compressors. All for the sake of peace of mind when travelling.

Walking into the saloon through the electric opening entrance door is when you really grasp the quality and pedigree of of this vessel. Salthouse are renowned for their integrity, class and build strength and Summersalt just oozes that quality and class
The control hub of the boat is on the starboard side as you enter and it is where all the switchboards and indicators are fitted. Opposite on the port side is the spacious rear galley which is just a delight and gives a huge amount of bench space. As mentioned before, the connection between the galley and the alfresco using the larger than normal electric window is just outstanding. Going back to the starboard side is the internal staircase and a very easy journey to the enclosed flybridge.
The saloon is beautifully presented and spacious with a large port side dinette with an electric adjustable table. This converts into a huge bed if needed. There are three opening saloon windows which is very pleasant on the right day.

Forward again to the masters suite on the port side which has a large king size bed and large ensuite attached. There is a mountain of storage both in the wardrobes and under the bed. Likewise in the forward cabin which has a queen size bed and really good access to both sides. The forward cabin shares the semi ensuite with the gusts third cabin which has a generous upper and lower bunk configuration.

The enclosed flybridge is a work of art, great visibility and equipped with all the quality necessary. Raymarine navigation product including three 14 "screens, wind speed, chart plotter, radar, sounder and autopilot. It has an area at the rear through to the aft flybridge docking station. This also gives access to the smaller tender which is in the top of the cockpit hardtop and seating.

The easy accessed engine room is a real credit to the Salthouse designers and engineers. All two packed and laid out expertly. You could spend hours seated in there just in admiration
