The Seahorse 52 Pilothouse, "Raucous", a well-found long-range passagemaker was designed by the respected naval architect, Blaine Seeley (USA). These rugged (solid hand-finished GRP lay-ups), heavy displacement, go-anywhere vessels with high topsides and heavily flared bows are exceptionally capable sea boats. "Raucous" is comprehensively equipped with electronic navigation, communication and safety systems. The pilothouse command/helm station is a skipper's delight. Everything needed to run the vessel is within reach. Powered by twin 270 hp Cummins turbo diesel engines, the big vessel will cruise comfortably and economically at around 8 knots with a range of over 1500 nm. The flybridge, (with bimini and an acrylic spray deflector) has upholstered seats and a table adjacent to the helm. The dinghy deck (with an electric crane) is aft. The skipper has excellent all-around visibility for tight manoeuvring from the well-equipped fly-bridge helm station. "Raucous" is equipped with a highly sophisticated Sea Gyro stabilizing system. This plus the full-length keel maximises stability and enhances tracking in a following sea. Back in the pilothouse, a comfortable settee and table behind the helm chair will ensure the skipper never wants for company. Aft of the pilothouse steps lead down to the cosy saloon with a settee and recliners. The full-service galley is forward of the saloon. A spiral staircase from the pilothouse leads to the sleeping quarters. Aft is the huge stateroom with an island queen-size double berth, vanity unit and ensuite. Then forward to two private cabins each with 2 x single bunks plus another bathroom. The vessel is air-conditioned throughout. The fine teak cabinetry and teak and holly cabin soles are a testament to the craftspeople who built this vessel.
This fine vessel represents excellent value and an opportunity for you with your family and friends to explore the coast. Perhaps places like Port Davey, Macquarie Harbour, Bass Strait Islands and beyond.
