A true TASMANIAN MOTOR CRUiSER, built by the well regarded "Tommy" Tucker of St Helens and then refurbished and upgraded over past owners to now provide a very versatile vessel in excellent condition.
The vessel is capable of offshore cruising and even serious fishing ( it has caught many bluefin tuna in its day), local cruising and is an ideal liveaboard with the layout providing potential apartment style living on the waterfront.
The build showcases the quality of the original shipwrights, the hull being Celery Top Pine, carvel planked, with many timber highlights through out the boat.
The layout features a great saloon wih entry from the starboard door adjacent to the helm, also ideal for mid ships access to grab lines etc when short handed, or from the large aft cockpit.
The dinette seats four comfortably, the galley has been upgraded recently and is well appointed with stove/oven/grill, stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water, and great refrigeration running down the starboard side of the boat, plus plenty of practical storage.
The helm station is also adjacent ensuring the crew are together when under way.
Moving for'ard down two steps is the first accommodation area, this having two large berths and also providing an ideal relaxation zone if wanting some privacy away from the saloon.
For'ard again to another cabin with two single berths, copious storage and access to the chain locker, both cabins finished with great use of timber.
The large cockpit is accessed directly from the saloon and again provides a great functional area for serious fishing, it even has a game chair that can be assembled when required and pot hauler, or a real al fresco relaxation area with BBQ, and plenty of space for simply enjoying the surrounds whether underway or at anchor. A hammock even comes with the boat!
The enclosed bathroom has a manual marine toilet and full hot/cold shower
Power is from a Six cylinder 90hp Perkins diesel providing comfortable and economical cruising at 8 knots, good fuel capacity enabling a cruising range of approximately 750+ nautical miles. Access to the engine is excellent below the saloon floor with the easy removal of four floor panels.
The very extensive inventory includes:
- 240V shorepower
- Well designed 12 volt system with separate batteries for key functions
- Very complete electronics including HF radio
- Custom made stainless steel davits, PLUS classic Purdon f/glass dinghy and outboard
- The safety gear means the boat is all set for offshore/coastal cruising
- Heaps of gear for running the boat including Pot hauler.
The current owners are based interstate and have used the boat as the ideal Tassie holiday destination which has suited them extremely well. They are regrettably selling but this provides a great opportunity for the next person(s) to acquire this great package.
