Circumnavigating New Zealand, or the globe, this Cat can take you anywhere you want to go. Orakei Marine is proud to present North Star II to the market for sale in Auckland.
She is a versatile & beautifully timeless vessel. In coastal cruising mode, she will sprint effortlessly to your favourite anchorage at 30 knots, easily handling the short sharp chop, typical of inshore conditions within the Gulf. The catamaran configuration ensures smooth planing underway. The relatively shallow draft opens up a wide range of options, while the aft boarding platform and easy tender storage makes coming and going a breeze.
With more ambitious destinations to visit, North Star II transforms into a capable global explorer. In bluewater mode, her copious tanks and displacement speeds make ocean crossings entirely feasible.
Easy handling and operating systems make North Star ideal for adventures with family and friends. Thoughtful space utilisation breaks the vessel up into a number of areas, where people can either congregate, or enjoy their own company. These include aft, upper and lower cockpits and an inviting lounging area recessed into the foredeck.
Indoors, the lower and upper saloons provide great versatility for casual or formal entertaining. State of the art sound systems and two giant flat screen videos provide background ambiance or upfront entertainment, while the master stateroom and three guest suites (all ensuite) provide elegant accommodations with a contemporary theme.
The generous spaces offered by the catamaran form make North Star equally suited to catering for large groups. For corporate functions, or regatta viewing, she is easily able to absorb groups of 40 to 50 people. The well-equipped galley is perfectly placed to serve guests in both saloon or al fresco in the large aft cockpit.
The upper deck comprises an enclosed flybridge and skylounge, which opens 0ut onto a large open sundeck. This is a favourite gathering place, but also serves as a stowage area for additional dinghies, fenders or water toys. A discreetly placed electric hoist makes deploying and retrieving recreational equipment effortless.
Advanced electronics make for reliable navigation, systems monitoring and global communication. At the business end, Twin Caterpillar engines are housed in a spacious, well-ventilated engine room to make it easy for efficient maintenance.
Built to an extremely high standard by Salthouse Boatbuilders, the composite construction offers great strength and easy maintenance. It also allows for complex curves and flowing lines, adding to Northstar's graceful aesthetics.
