A Rare Opportunity to Own an Exceptional Fast Cruising Catamaran
Diversion presents a truly unique opportunity to acquire an exceptional fast cruising catamaran that combines innovative design, refined craftsmanship, and exhilarating sailing performance. Following an extensive 6.5 month refit completed in October 2024, this distinctive vessel is ready to embark on her next adventure.
Designed by renowned naval architect Charlie Capelle, the MCAT 52 represents a unique approach to modern multihull design. Created for discerning owners seeking individuality and performance, Diversion embodies a philosophy of exclusive, high quality boatbuilding where every element has been carefully considered to deliver an exceptional sailing experience.
Innovative Construction
The MCAT 52 showcases an advanced construction methodology developed by Technologie Marine, reflecting meticulous engineering and manufacturing precision.
Three dedicated moulds were utilised during construction: one for the underwater sections, one for the underside of the nacelle, and another for the coachroof. The remaining structure is fabricated from developable panels produced on a precision marble table, ensuring outstanding dimensional accuracy throughout the build.
Each component is vacuum infused to achieve optimum strength and weight characteristics, while carbon fibre reinforcement has been strategically incorporated only where structurally essential, including the coachroof bracing and forward cross structure.
Unlike conventional production methods, the MCAT 52 is constructed in the upright position. Once the primary structure is completed, the hull planking remains open, allowing unrestricted access for the installation of all technical systems and interior fit out. The one piece planking is then dry fitted before being permanently bonded using high performance structural adhesives and extensively laminated into the surrounding structure. The result is a remarkably rigid, homogeneous mechanical box that optimises structural integrity while maintaining exceptional geometric precision by eliminating the need to invert the hull during construction.
Designed for Performance
Diversion has been conceived as a fast cruising catamaran that delivers responsive, rewarding sailing characteristics while remaining remarkably easy to manage. Every aspect of the design contributes to confident handling and enjoyable passagemaking.
The intelligently positioned centrally mounted engines enhance weight distribution and accessibility, while ergonomic handholds and corrosion resistant finishes throughout the vessel reflect the practical thinking behind the design. The result is a catamaran that inspires confidence whether sailing short handed or cruising with family and friends.
Its striking profile, defined by bold roof angles, carefully integrated carbon elements, and contemporary styling, gives Diversion a distinctive presence that perfectly reflects her performance focused character.
Contemporary Living Spaces
The interior has been thoughtfully designed to provide generous accommodation without compromising functionality or comfort.
The owner's suite offers impressive space, excellent storage, and the privacy of an ensuite bathroom. Two additional guest cabins provide comfortable accommodation and share a well appointed bathroom, making the vessel equally suited to extended cruising with family or guests.
The bright and practical galley features generous preparation space alongside intelligently designed storage solutions, while the elevated deck saloon enjoys panoramic visibility, creating a welcoming living area complete with a versatile navigation station and modern onboard electronics.
Throughout the vessel, attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the fit out, from the intuitive control layouts and excellent mechanical accessibility to the quality of the finishes and overall execution.
A Truly Unique Opportunity
Diversion is far more than simply another performance cruising catamaran. She represents an uncompromising blend of innovative construction, thoughtful engineering, contemporary styling, and rewarding sailing performance.
For those seeking a distinctive fast cruising catamaran that stands apart from the ordinary, this is a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional vessel that has been carefully designed and recently comprehensively refitted, ready for her next owner to enjoy.
Opportunities to acquire an MCAT 52 of this calibre are exceptionally rare.
