The Com-Pac 16 is an American trailer sailer designed by the legendary Clark Mills. 'Sea Cat' is the Mark 3 XL version - meaning she has a few extra bells and whistles. Com-Pac were known for their high standard and relatively overbuilt hulls.

To our knowledge this is the only CP16 in Australia and has recently undergone a massive refurbishment, there's nothing more to spend or do. She was built in November 1992.

The CP16 has 200kg of ballast in a fixed keel, making her incredibly stable, safe and virtually impossible to capsize. She sails like a much larger boat, capable of handling conditions when others would run for cover. Starting at the stern; there's a factory fitted boarding ladder and motor mount either side of the new RudderCraft NACA designed rudder. The factory fitted pushpit, pulpit and new dyneema lifelines help keep you safe when working on deck. All halyards and sheets are accessible from the large self-draining cockpit. Custom Lazy Jacks keep the brand new fully battened main neat when dropped. The headsails are hank on by our choice - this ensures better sail shape and the ability to quickly swap between the jib and storm sail. The original stainless rigging was replaced with dyneema and Hyfield levers have been added to simplify and speed up the rigging process, which only takes 20-30 minutes. Having a small cabin on a boat this size is a bonus. Not only is it a safe and dry place to store all your gear, it's big enough for two people to sleep comfortably. We've made it even better by designing and building a new stowage area and galley box. This handy box can be used in the cabin, in the cockpit or even taken onshore. We've installed a new electrical system with internal LED and navigation lights. There's a cigarette lighter type outlet with voltage display and USB power outlets. The cushions are new and made from the best foam and coverings we could find. The new tinted plastic washboards help keep the wee cabin light and bright.

How does she sail? We were impressed when she was stock standard, but the new sails and NACA foil have taken her to another level. Check out this video to see her in action: https://youtu. Be/BaeaBwO4Py8

'Sea Cat' is a very pretty and unique little boat. She would suit someone looking for something a bit special with the ability to sail where few boats this size would venture.
