Tamar Queen is a stunning classic vessel, meticulously and lovingly restored to a better-than-new condition. The quality of this restoration is proven by multiple category wins at the Tasmanian Wooden Boat Shows. From the flawless interior and exterior paintwork to the gleaming brass and stainless-steel fittings, there are few surfaces where you won't see your reflection.
Originally a clinker-built wooden boat from the 1940s and launched in 1955, Tamar Queen has undergone a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration. The vessel was taken back to bare timber, with all rot professionally removed. Thoughtful upgrades include a deeper keel with a full-length polished stainless-steel shoe, a drop-in centreboard, a new engine box, and a reliable Yanmar 10hp engine.
The deck has been cleverly constructed in removable panels, allowing easy access for maintenance or cleaning. Everything has been meticulously sealed and finished with numerous coats of high-quality 2-pack paint, delivering a true showroom finish.
Rigged with a classic gaff sail plan, Tamar Queen is simple to set up and a pleasure to sail--ideal for single-handed sailing or relaxed outings with family and friends. Both sails are protected with covers when stored, and the boat has always been kept under cover.
The custom trailer features an extendable tongue for effortless launching at shallow ramps, along with guide posts for straightforward launching and retrieval.
Significantly more than triple the current asking price has been invested in this restoration, resulting in a vessel that should provide years of low-maintenance, enjoyable ownership.
Due to a recent change in circumstances, the owner is now open to reasonable offers and would love to see Tamar Queen go to a home where she will be used, appreciated, and cherished--just as she has been for the past 22 years by the same devoted owner.
