Farr 6000. I have owned Knot Too Farr for 23 years and time has come for her to find a new family. The boat has been stored for the last 7 years under a tarp whilst I have been living overseas. The photos show the boat as she is. I do not have the time to cut and polish and do some simple projects that would present her better.

Here are the Good the Bad and the Ugly.
The Good.
1. The hull and cabin are in good shape for her age. There is the usual wear and tear. She would benefit from a cut and polish and some chip fill ins.
2. The trailer is in good condition. It was gal dipped 8 years ago and has no evidence of rust. Hitch, tyres, bearings, brake cables and bolts are new. It passed roadworthy about 3 weeks ago.
3. The mainsail has never been used. I ordered it from Far East Sails 8 years ago. I think it was about $1250. It is still in the box in which it was delivered.
4. Pop top tent is easy to install, gives good weather protection and full standing height and is in good condition.
5. The jib/foresail is on a furler and is in good condition. It has a storm jib (fair condition). Mast and boom are as you might expect for their age.

The Bad - and the Ugly.
1. Most of the plywood timber is worse for wear from having gotten wet during the time I have been away. The cabin entry side panels are serviceable but need replacing. The table and locker lids could all do with a renovation or replacement.
2. The motor is an old (mid 1990's) 8 hp 2 stroke. It has been sitting in a shed and started occasionally. I will get it serviced and ensure it is in running condition. It pushes the boat along easily, is smoother than the single piston outboards I have tried and uses 2.5 - 3 litres per hour at 5 knots.
3. The rigging needs to be checked. I replaced the stays about 15 years ago. I have only used the boat 10 times since then. Blocks and sheets were all stored in plastic trunks indoors are are in good condition. Halyards (especialy the rope) and furling lines could probably do with a refresh.

I believe I am pricing the boat about right, given all of the above. The new main, trailer in good condition and hull in good condition for her age leave me thinking it is fair value. It will suit a buyer who has some time to put some love into her.

Open to offers. I am moving from Queensland to Melbourne and need to sell.
