Gospel Easycraft 9.3m, enclosed cab with twin low hour 250HP motors.

These boats, built in Qingdao, China are quickly gaining a lot of attraction locally in Australia and globally - with huge demand in the USA. I've visited one of the four factories where these are built in China and was seriously impressed by the operation. The weld quality is very good and the materials used are good quality.

The 9.3m is a lot of boat in the water, the saying 'there's no replacement for displacement' runs true with this big girl, very comfortable underway, economic cruise at 20 knots and comfortable up to 30 knots. When sea tested we had a 15 knot south easterly breeze, enough chop around to know it wasn't smooth and the ride was incredibly comfortable - especially for the skipper, thanks to the suspension seat.

An easily converted boat, the large bench in the middle of the cockpit which doubles as storage, can be unbolted in 2 minutes and removed to open the space right up. All bench seats can be lifted up to clear the deck completely and you have a huge platform for up to 10 guests. In the cabin, you have the helm chair with the suspension seat, co-pilot chair, bench seating behind the captains chair and a table which can drop to create another bench seat. Ideal for long days on the water, great for young families who have kids that want to lie down and get out of the sun.

All the side windows in the cabin slide open to allow airflow, which does wonders. On the sea trial it was 34 degrees with 15 knots of wind, at no point did the temperature get uncomfortable. When on anchor in the bays, you can open the front hatch and side windows and the breeze will keep the whole area cool.

The Gospel Boats are quickly becoming very popular here in Australia, with 10-20 boats landing in WA alone monthly. The long held concern surrounding Chinese built boats is becoming a thing of the past, just like Chinese built cars - just look at the amount of BYD Sharks floating around. So many of the components on Australian or US built boats are made in China already, electronics, pumps, switches, winches mostly built in China. When a 9.3m built in Australia would cost you close to $500,000, this is an affordable option which will get you home, dry, in almost all conditions.
