The Magnum 8.5 (28ft) is a very comfortable, easily handled, trailable yacht. The boat has always been wintered under cover, and is light, fast, strong and easily sailed.
Below deck it offers privacy and has a fully enclosed toilet/bathroom (head) with teak door. It offers good headroom, a spacious saloon to suit the whole family, galley with 2 burner stove, icebox, ss sink, 40 litre freshwater tank, and a foldaway table with cushioned seats. Comfortably sleeps a family of four.
The boat is easy to set up and comes on a dual axle trailer. The motor is a Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke electric start, long shaft. It is concealed beneath the cockpit in its own well, with Bombay doors. Easy to lift motor when sailing.
The hull and deck is foam sandwich construction. This combination makes for a light, fast, strong yacht which is easy to launch and retrieve and the shoal draft is a distinct advantage.
The self-tacking headsail is a fabulous feature when racing or cruising, as it looks after itself when tacking.
'Make My Day' has a comprehensive wardrobe of sails, all in excellent condition. These include working jib, No. 1 genoa, No. 2 genoa, main sail (fully battened) and two spinnakers. Other equipment includes dual axle trailer, VHF radio, radio/CD player, depth sounder, speed log, Garmin chart plotter, EPIRB, solar panel, safety harnesses, auto-helm, inflatable PFD's, boom tent, and a 6kg CQR anchor with chain and rope.
'Make My Day' is well priced and in excellent condition. It is a regretful sale due to my age and health, but I have had many years of wonderful sailing with her and hope that she will find a family that will love her as I have.
$32,000 ONO.
