Rob Legg RL 28 Just Listed

Well maintained example of the classic RL28. One of the few trailerable sailing boats with full head height and many other features designed for a comfortable sailing experience for a couple or young family. All controls are led back to the cockpit and are well placed to make for effortless single handed sailing as well.

Enhancements to this vessel include a tiller pilot with remote control, a sail to wind option and auto tack functions.
The mainsail has two reefing points with lines for both leading to the cockpit. Lazy jacks ensure to capture the sail neatly when lowering. The headsail is on a ronstan furler with controls also at the cockpit.

When you do need to motor the four stroke honda has an electric start with single stick remote which includes alarms for overheat and oil pressure.
The motor is housed in a well with a sound insulating cover and bombay doors around the leg.
If you want to pull in at a beach the motor can be tilted up out of the water, the keel retracted with the hydraulic pump, and the rudder lifted to allow you to reverse in and step off at the stern. The shoal draft of just 0.4m allows you to reach anchorages that many others cannot.

At the end of the day the electric anchor winch with remote controls makes light work of the 20 pound anchor and 6mm chain while inside awaits a hot shower in the head with auto floor sump pump. The galley is equipped with a methylated spirits 2 burner stove and grill while the ice box has a danfoss refrigeration unit that keeps the drinks cold and the ice cubes frozen. And for entertainment there is a TV/DVD player plus stereo and CD player.

The vessel is located on a hard stand at Manly Harbour Boat Club and comes with an unregistered launching trailer.
