Leopard Catamarans 46 Owners Version

Orion is a from day one privately owned Leopard 46 3-Cabin Version that has been well-cared for and thoughtfully outfitted, making her a reliable and well-equipped cruising catamaran. With only 12,500 nautical miles under her keel, her limited use consists of the passages from South Africa via Trinidad and Panama to Miami and back to Trinidad, where she is currently berthed.

Her rigging was fully replaced in 2020, the rudder posts and bearings as well as bottom paint in 2024. The Parasailor winged spinnaker, used on only three sailing days, is practically new and ready for extended downwind cruising. The Yanmar engines are in excellent condition, each with just 1,570 hours of operation, and the generator has 1,900 hours, also reflecting very little use.

Orion has been upgraded with several practical features aimed at long-term cruising comfort. A custom-installed, quiet split air conditioning system ensures comfort throughout the boat even in the hottest hours of the day and the window unit can be fitted for haul out and storage on the hard. There's also a top-loaded, 6-8-inch insulated, 3 ft³ deep freezer under the helm station. For safety at the transom stairs, the pushpits were extended to blend seamlessly with the boat's design.

Additional upgrades include a full set of navigation equipment also at the nav station, Balmar Serpentine Pulley Conversion Kits, a 50 GPH desalination system and 115 and 230 VAC outlets in all cabins. The cockpit features stairs with ample storage space and a high-quality sound system in cockpit and salon with JL marine speakers, subwoofer and two amplifiers.

The interior, including the flooring and furniture, presents very well, with fixtures, mirrors, mattresses, and upholstery all replaced recently.

This Leopard 46 has proven itself in bluewater cruising, providing the comforts and upgrades desired for both day sailing and circumnavigation. If you're looking for a solid catamaran that has been meticulously cared for with attention to detail, Orion is definitely worth a closer look.
