The Riviera M400 needs no introduction. A huge innovation in the sports cruiser class when launched, this ever-popular model is still maintaining that level of class and elegance today. The M400 is rarely available for sale in New Zealand.
With its advanced solid GRP hull design and broad beam, the M400 is an exceptionally solid, seaworthy and stable boat in any sea conditions - head sea, following sea as well as beam seas.
Fitted with twin Volvo 350hp D6 Diesel engines, the perfect package for this model, this boat is not only powerful but also economical and is also equipped with a bow thruster for easy manoeuvring.
This vessel has outstanding performance with a maximum speed of 35kts, and a wide range of "best range" cruising speeds from 20kts to just over 26kts.

Cockpit & Exterior:
The large teak swim platform allows for easy boarding and flows into the large L-shaped Alcantra covered lounge with seating for at least six around a solid teak and stainless steel, expandable dining table. An extra seating space opposite the helm provides ample space for guests to spread out. In addition to the generous headroom of 2.05m, there is great airflow from twin sunroofs mounted in the full length hard top as well as the five upgraded closable ceiling vents. One is spoiled for choice for seating and lounging positions and the near new removable side/rear covers allows the cockpit area to be dynamically converted, in three stages, from large open-air daytime lounging to a cosy, warm yet roomy evening room for dining, entertaining or just chilling. As a bonus, the lounge can easily be converted into a large double bed for extra guests or just the opportunity to have a third bedroom option. Furthermore, the 6 deck lights plus two recently upgraded, blue underwater lights provide a beautiful and peaceful evening ambiance.
The large, recently replaced eyebrow extending over swim platform provides extra sun and weather protection and enhances the overall streamlined look of the boat. The large foredeck sun pad offers another space for relaxing.
The helm position provides excellent visibility of the vessel and surrounding area and is equipped with top-of-the-line features such as Dual Raymarine Axiom Touch Screen MFD's with Raymarine Quantum Radar and Raymarine Realvision 3D depth/fishfinding displays, Autopilot, Chain Counter, Electronic Controls, Sports Steering Wheel, Trim Tabs, Bluetooth Stereo and a Bow Thruster. A large ottoman nests perfectly against the lounge to enable the area to be converted to an additional single berth. The mid-cabin has a double and single bed while the master cabin upfront includes an island double bed. Mechanics, Service History & Upgrades:
In 2021, in addition to normal full servicing, both engines were removed, thoroughly inspected and had all 8 intercoolers / heat exchangers refurbished or replaced. New saltwater pumps and hoses were also fitted. New turbochargers were also installed. Important for cruising boaties, this M400 comes with an extensive spare parts kit covering engine, fresh water and sanitation systems.
Rarely installed, but hugely beneficial for boaties, this M400 boasts recently installed twin 200 watt roof mounted solar panels feeding twin Victron MPPT charge controllers, monitored by the Victron Smart Battery Monitor and Smart Battery Sense; all Bluetooth controlled & monitored via the Victron app. This system ensures an ample supply of free solar energy of up to 24 amps can feed into the house batteries.
For those extended trips, the boat's freshwater tank holds an impressive 500 litres, very large for this class of boat. She also holds 1,100 litres of diesel, giving an impressive range of around 260NM (480km) cruising between 20kts & 26kts, or well over 1,000NM (1,850km) @ 5 to 6kts.
