Its not a huge boat for its length but a stylish, easily maintained trailerable boat suited to exploring sheltered and semi sheltered waterways.
The design is based on the Handy Billy 21, a boat known for her gentle loping ride and great efficiency. She can handle the steepest chops thanks to a fine entry and generous deadrise.

Remarks
The hull of the HB 23 is built using a process called WEST System construction. Internal structure (frames, bulkheads and longitudinals) is of good quality mahogany, and shell of certified marine plywood. Everything is then covered by several layers of epoxy resin + fiberglass.
This type of construction provides excellent strength to weight ratios and has very low maintenance requirements.
Built by a small boatyard located in Sicily (Italy) the HB 23 should be given serious consideration by those looking for a classic launch with an eye towards relaxing near-shore cruises, day trips, island picnics, silent bird-watching excursions, just to name a few possibilities.
