Pama 54 Pilothouse Just Listed

The Pama 54 is designed by respected US naval architect Howard Apollonio. The sleek and efficient hull performs exceptionally well at sea. The layout is all about efficient flow and function. Boarding is via the full-beam boarding platform (incorporates a swim ladder, rod holders and baitboard) and step up into the cockpit. The fly-deck overhang provides shelter. To starboard are steps to the flybridge. The cockpit alfresco dining area comfortably seats 5-6 around the (teak and burled elm) table. The coaming capping is highly finished teak (attention to detail). A powered ram raises the hatch in the cockpit floor to access the thoroughly soundproofed engine room. The fastidiously maintained twin 567 hp Caterpillar C9 ACERT 6-cylinder turbo diesel engines with ZF Cruise Command Electronic Controls effortlessly power the big vessel at the optimum (planing) cruise speed of 17 knots (top speed approx. 25). A boat test journalist's comments... "As the Cats took charge, she seamlessly moved onto the plane, deftly parting the aggressive chop. I could not provoke any bad behaviour. The Parma 54 is a quiet and smooth performer in a seaway". A 13 kVA Northern Lights genset shares the engine room. While talking machinery, Side Power Bow and Stern Thrusters with controls at both helms make easy, fuss-free work of close-quarter manoeuvres. Then there is the wireless Dockmate remote docking device.
Wide opening curved glass/stainless steel doors open into the (full-beam) saloon. Yes, it is breathtaking. The light pouring through the large pelmet-capped windows radiates against the fine American Cherry wood and Teak cabinetry. The curved (built-in) couch to starboard sweeps around a table that is raised and lowered electrically from coffee table to dining table height. Timber cupboards sweep around under the portside windows. Now, forward and step up to the bridgedeck. For the helmsman, the visibility from this elevated helm is excellent. The curved dash angles the comprehensive array of instruments in clear view from the helm. A pantograph (watertight) door provides access to the foredeck. A comfortable sofa and dinette are adjacent to the helm, with the full-service galley aft (opposite the dinette). Now, up to the flybridge via the bridgedeck internal steps (also cockpit steps). The sheltered flybridge (hardtop plus clear surround curtains) helm station instrumentation is complete (almost a repeat of the bridgedeck instrumentation). A favourite alfresco dining space with a curved sofa and table setting to port. To starboard is a sink, fridge and cupboards module. Aft is a davit crane and plenty of room for launching/retrieving the tender. Back to the bridgedeck, where a spiral staircase to starboard leads down to the sleeping accommodations and bathrooms. The guest cabin forward features an island queen-size bed, plenty of hanging lockers and storage spaces. Ports and an overhead hatch ensure plenty of natural light and ventilation. The shared ensuite is spacious and incorporates a separate shower stall. A twin-share cabin with under/over bunks is perfect for the kids. The owner's (FULL BEAM) stateroom is a vision splendid. Featuring an island king-size berth (gas struts raise the berth to access the storage under). The attention to detail is remarkable, with lights in lined lockers and discrete storage areas. Furnishings include a set of drawers, vanity seating to port and a hanging locker to starboard. Ports on either side are concealed behind panelling. The private en-suite is but a few steps away. A washer/dryer is conveniently located behind louvred doors.

In terms of cruising comforts, luxury appointments, and performance, the Parma 54 can be described as a 'pocket super yacht'. However, this motor yacht is easily and safely handled by a couple or family and friends. It is in very good condition and represents outstanding value.
