Philosopher's fastidious owner spared no expense in getting her to the start line for the 2025 Rolex Sydney to Hobart, and she is offered for sale with all the equipment ready to race offshore - there is literally nothing to spend. From her Starlink Mini and B&G Edge processor to her new mast, rigging and comprehensive suit of sails, she wants for nothing. Ideal for crewed or two handed sailing, Philosopher would make a great fast harbour racer but has proven very capable of offshore results. Alternatively, she is an fantastic double handed boat, capable of taking on and beating the newer production boats.

Philosopher was originally put together by the talented Peter Sorenson, with the specific aim of winning IRC events. With a sugar scoop added, a Fred Barrett designed bowsprit, a tiller for better feel, a larger foretriangle designed and a weight reduction program instigated, she has been on top of a lot of podiums.

Her next owners Sean Tiedemann kept up her winning ways, winning her division in the Sydney Hobart in 2019, and in the IRC Nationals in 2018 and 2019.

More recently she has been very successfully campaigned double handed by the equally skilled David Henry. David maintained her to an extremely high standard and continued to improve her, and kept achieving excellent results including a win in the Sydney Gold Coast Double Handed Division in 2023.

Under her current stewardship, the additions and upgrades have continued, with a new carbon tiller and modified rudder, new mast, rigging and cordage, updated sail wardrobe, and a large investment in her electronics package just the beginning. No part of her has been left untouched in the quest for boatspeed and reliability, and all receipts are available on request.
She is reluctantly offered for sale due to a change of circumstances.
