"Hermoine of the Derwent" is a North Sea 25 Sloop, classic design, strip planked Huon Pine yacht. Hermione was built in 1973 by respected local boat builder Geoff Cuthberston as a cruising and racing vessel to accommodate a family.
She has spent many years fulfilling both roles, notably having a successful racing career for 20 years out of Kettering.
Hermione has 300L of diesel and 400L of water, along with 4 6ft plus berths making her the perfect cruising vessel.
In recent years (2021-22) there was some extensive work done to conserve her heritage. These works included:
o She has been stripped to bare hull and professionally RE-epoxied and resprayed using high
quality wattyl marine products.
o New furler and Steve Walker sails in excellent condition, recently maintained/ repaired with
new sail bag - work completed by storm bay sails.
o Standing rigging attended to by RM marine (2022).
o Decks resealed with Wattyl products.
o Interior refinished.
o Maintenance to Perkins diesel engine.
o Re-wired & solar.
o New house and ignition batteries (2021-22).

Below the deck, the accommodations are well laid out with excellent use of space. The huon pine cabinetry is to a high standard. There are two berths (port and starboard) in the main cabin. The small galley is to port with the navigation station opposite.
The dinette (Amidships) with comfortable settees (seating for 4) on either side of the dining table. The settees can double as berths. Forward of the bulkhead is the bathroom which includes a marine toilet. Opposite is a large icebox and there is a double berth forward.
