"Maybe" is a 42 ft carvel planked timber motor cruiser designed and built in Tasmania. Designed by a Halvorsen naval architect and built by
Tasmanian boat builder, Tommy Tucker. Constructed from celery top pine below the waterline, blue gum topsides and fitted out with Huon pine and Tasmanian black wood. She was launched in 1968 as a commercial charter fishing vessel working out of St. Helens, in north eastern Tasmania, and later, after suitable conversion, as a private cruising vessel in Tasmanian water. More recently she was relocated to the Gippsland Lakes and is currently moored at Raymond Island.
This vessel has been meticulously maintained and presents in excellent condition. She is a proven sea worthy open waters vessel and very comfortable for recreational sheltered waters. Powered by a British built 100 hp Perkins diesel engine with an economical cruising speed of 8 knots, she is reliable and very fuel efficient.
The vessel layout includes a forward cabin with 2 single bunks, a mid cabin with a double berth and large convertible settee. The wheel house is mid ships with a well designed galley area, comfortable seating and a separate chart table. Aft is a spacious open deck area with overhead weather protection and access to an electric toilet, wash basin and shower facilities. A classic fibre glass tender with oars and outboard motor hangs from transom mounted stainless steel davits.
The vessel has recently been slipped, antifouled and fully serviced.
