I purchased Heart of Gold in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand in 2011. After cruising the east coast of the north island, I sailed single handed across the Tasman to Port Kembla. From there she was transported to the family home and stored undercover on the hard until we began a full refit in 2017.
In 2019 she was relaunched and with a shakedown sail from Westernport Bay to the Gippsland Lakes. In 2021 we sailed across Bass strait to Tasmania and extensively explored the East coast. In 2024 we sailed back north from Tasmnania to Sydney > Yamba where she currently lies on a mooring at the Yamba yacht club.
With her previous owner she had sailed NZ > FIJI > TONGA > SAMOA > NZ
UNDERWENT COMPLETE REFIT 2017 - 2019.
Professional work completed by Corsair Boats in Rosebud, Victoria.
Hull completely stripped and sealed with layer of epoxy.
Completely repainted inside and out - topsides, decks, engine bay, cockpit, cupboards, etc. Rudder strengthened, resealed and repainted.
Starter battery platform / mount built.
Mast stripped and professionally painted in 2018.
New Cockpit floor. Cockpit floor was raised 2 inches and rebuilt to provide better drainage.
