2001 Alliage 44 - LUNA

LUNA is an exceptional 2001 Alliage 44, a French-built aluminium centreboard cruiser designed by the renowned Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design team. Purpose-built for serious offshore passagemaking, the Alliage 44 has earned an outstanding reputation among bluewater sailors for its robust aluminium construction, lifting keel versatility and comfortable performance across all ocean conditions.

Purchased by her current owners in 2019 as part of their retirement dream to sail from Southern France to French Polynesia, LUNA has successfully completed exactly that voyage. Now lying in Papeete, French Polynesia, she stands as a proven ocean cruiser ready for her next adventure. Prior to the current ownership, her first owner completed a circumnavigation, further cementing her remarkable offshore pedigree.

Chosen specifically for the security and durability of aluminium construction, LUNA has benefited from extensive upgrades throughout her current ownership. Between 2019 and 2025, major improvements include new standing rigging, modern sails, comprehensive B&G electronics, watermaker, solar panels, hydrogenerator, lithium battery bank, updated charging systems and numerous cruising enhancements. All sail controls have been led aft to the cockpit, allowing comfortable short-handed or even single-handed sailing.

Her lifting centreboard provides exceptional versatility, reducing draft to just 0.9 metres while retaining excellent windward performance and offshore stability. Powered by a reliable 62hp Nanni diesel, supported by a Panda 6.5kW generator, hydrogenerator, wind generator and renewable energy systems, LUNA is exceptionally well equipped for extended off-grid cruising.

Comfort below deck is equally impressive, with a practical two-cabin layout, generous headroom, diesel heating, well-equipped galley and extensive onboard systems that make life aboard enjoyable whether crossing oceans or exploring shallow anchorages.

Having fulfilled her owners' dream voyage across the Atlantic and Pacific, LUNA now presents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuinely proven aluminium expedition yacht that is extensively upgraded, meticulously maintained and ready to continue exploring the world's oceans.
