Amel Sharki 39 - Adventure Ready Just Listed

Renowned as some of the world's most revered and respected cruising yachts, Amels are instantly recognisable and have developed a solid reputation as safe and seaworthy vessels. They sail surprisingly well, with 'Mischa', a 39-foot Amel Sharki, loving nothing more than to hum along on 7 to 8 knots in 15 to 20 knots of breeze.

Australian registered as 'Damischa Ridda', the boat is currently near the Keppels as we slowly make our way back to Pittwater.

I purchased the boat earlier this year purely to fulfil the lifelong dream of sailing from Sydney to North Queensland and back. Time has flown, the trip has exceeded all expectations, and the boat has been phenomenal. But sadly I need to downsize to a smaller vessel, and Mischa is reluctantly for sale.

The design is renowned for its safety, comfort, and suitability for long passage-making. It's a world-class vessel due to its design and build quality and is highly respected amongst the cruising fraternity.

She holds 760 litres of water, 340 litres of diesel, and is set up for complete self-sufficiency and off-grid exploring. A Starlink Mini is installed, which helps with remote work & comms.

The Sharki features a very secure cockpit that can withstand all weather conditions without the need to don wet-weather gear and offers excellent visibility in a protected environment. The layout and unique Amel systems prioritise practicality as the foremost design criteria, making maintenance and upkeep a breeze. No external timber means no more time spent with varnish cans and hours spent on cosmetics.

Mischa has an inspiring history, having travelled around the world 1.5 times and cruising to the most exotic locations. The vessel has always been in the hands of dedicated and knowledgeable cruising people. The current owner has held a commercial ticket for more than twenty years, and the previous owners sailed her from Pittwater to Port Davey in Tasmania four times. Mischa is ready to sail hundreds of miles in any direction at any time.

The moulded keel - fully integrated with no keel bolts to worry about - and single-skin GRP hull, as well as a strong skeg-hung rudder, mean longevity and integrity over years of use. There's no osmosis and never has been.

The ketch rig and furling mainsail and headsail make sail handling manageable and light. The rigging was replaced and is current for insurance purposes.

The sail wardrobe includes a near-new furling headsail and excellent mainsail and mizzen as well as assorted sails for all conditions.

An excellent maintenance history shows a steady injection of funds, including recent anchor chain, current rigging, TruDesign through-hull fittings and seacocks all replaced, new deck paint, new house and starter batteries, and new engine control Morse cables. The exterior of the boat is perfectly presentable, but there are a few signs of use and age - nothing some sanding, buffing or fresh paint won't fix.

The powerful Iveco Lombardini diesel engine was new in 2006 and has been well maintained. She's had recent oil changes (engine and ZF gearbox), diesel delivery hoses and 2 new coolant hoses. A garage full of spares is included, and despite its age and hours, the motor runs exceptionally well. Engine access is uncommonly generous with direct cockpit access.

The interior of the vessel is warm, inviting, and full of character. The cabin layout features an aft queen (with a near-new mattress topper) and a forward double. There's also a sea berth amidships, and a port sette should a shorter berth be required. There's a generous head to port, a large storage cupboard to starboard, and an east/west galley in the main saloon. It has a thoughtful layout and very generous storage space and tankage.

The walkthrough to the aft cabin is set up as a workshop - with spares, supplies and consumables filling the shelves and storage nooks.
