Having recently arrived in Australia following an impressive Pacific crossing with the World ARC, 'Indigo Wave' presents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a beautifully maintained, comprehensively equipped and genuinely proven bluewater cruising yacht.

The Island Packet 445 enjoys an enviable reputation amongst serious cruising sailors, combining immensely strong construction, excellent sea-keeping qualities and reassuring offshore capability with the comfort, space and craftsmanship required for extended life aboard. Designed by Bob Johnson and built in the USA, 'Indigo Wave' is a particularly impressive example - thoughtfully upgraded by experienced owners and presented in outstanding condition following extensive preparation for sale.

Her centre-cockpit configuration provides a wonderfully protected helm and separates two genuinely generous accommodation areas below. The spacious forward owner's cabin features an island queen berth and private ensuite, while a large aft double cabin with its own ensuite provides excellent privacy for guests or crew. Between them is a beautifully crafted, light-filled saloon, dedicated navigation station and an exceptionally practical passageway galley. Warm timber joinery is complemented by abundant natural light, excellent ventilation and an unusually generous sense of space for a serious offshore yacht.

Life aboard has been equally well considered. Her large galley, substantial refrigeration, modern electric cooking, washer/dryer, watermaker, generous tankage and extensive independent power systems make 'Indigo Wave' a remarkably comfortable and self-sufficient home afloat. Thoughtful details are found throughout, reflecting owners who have lived aboard, crossed oceans and continually refined the yacht to make passagemaking safer, simpler and more enjoyable.

On deck, her purposeful Island Packet pedigree is immediately apparent. The protected centre cockpit boasts new wraparound cockpit clears. Her cutter rig, in-mast furling and self-tacking staysail provide an easily managed platform for short-handed sailing, complemented by electric primary winches and an impressive sail wardrobe including Code Zero and Parasailor. Her substantial ground tackle, quality dinghy arrangement and comprehensive offshore safety equipment further reinforce that this is a yacht conceived for much more than coastal cruising.

Importantly, 'Indigo Wave's capabilities are not theoretical. Under her current ownership she has cruised British Columbia and Alaska before sailing south through the USA, Mexico and Central America, then crossing the Pacific in 2026 via the Galápagos, French Polynesia, Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu to Australia.

Following arrival, she was fully imported and subjected to an extensive programme of professional preparation. Her hull was antifouled, topsides, deck and cabin top extensively polished, stainless polished, varnish attended to and a new boot stripe fitted. Her Yanmar 75hp turbo diesel and MasPower generator were professionally serviced, while a brand-new mainsail and genoa have now been fitted. The result is a yacht that presents every bit as impressively as her specification suggests.

'Indigo Wave' is not a yacht awaiting preparation for her next adventure. The preparation has already been done. Beautifully presented, proven across oceans and comprehensively equipped for independent cruising, she offers her next owners the increasingly rare opportunity to step aboard a pedigree bluewater yacht and simply decide where they would like to go next.

Remarks
Ownership History:
'Indigo Wave' has enjoyed just three owners since new, with relatively light use during her earlier years. Her original owner sailed her sparingly in North Carolina before she was purchased by her second owners and transported overland to Seattle. Their plans for extended offshore cruising ultimately changed, and the yacht--then named 'Lucia Rose'--was primarily enjoyed for recreational cruising and holidays.

Purchased by her current owners in 2021 and renamed 'Indigo Wave', she was initially based in British Columbia, spending her first three seasons cruising the spectacular waters of BC and Alaska for two months each year and many shorter cruises in the southern Salish Sea. Her cruising horizons then expanded considerably. 'Indigo Wave' sailed south along the US West Coast, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama.

In 2026 she joined the World ARC, crossing the Pacific via the Galápagos, French Polynesia, Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu before her owners elected to conclude their voyage in Australia. Following arrival, Indigo Wave was fully imported into Australia and prepared for sale at Rivergate Marina, with comprehensive servicing and detailing including her hull and superstructure, engine and generator. Having recently demonstrated her offshore capability across the Pacific, she is exceptionally well prepared to continue cruising--whether exploring Australian waters or embarking on another bluewater adventure.

A NOTE FROM THE OWNERS:

We chose an Island Packet because we wanted a yacht that looked after us rather than the other way around.

The Island Packet 445 is an exceptionally safe, sturdy and comfortable bluewater cruising yacht, with a standard of build and craftsmanship comparable to many Scandinavian counterparts, while offering considerably more interior volume, natural light and space.

We have particularly loved the openness and comfort of 'Indigo Wave's interior and how easily she became our home afloat. The generous galley with its modern appliances and domestic-sized washer/dryer has made everyday life aboard remarkably easy, particularly while cruising for extended periods.

Under sail, the Code Zero has been a firm favourite as it transformed light-air sailing, while our Whitehall rowboat has given us a wonderful way to explore and get ashore. Its electric davit system makes launching and retrieval effortless, and we love how neatly the tender stows beneath the aft solar arch when underway. The second Rocna gave us confidence anchoring in tidal rivers and narrow channels.

Above all, 'Indigo Wave' has given us an enormous sense of security. She is a beautifully built, immensely capable yacht that has looked after us exceptionally well in a wide variety of conditions and has been a wonderful home throughout our cruising adventures. Our greatest wish is simply that her next owners will enjoy, appreciate and adventure aboard her as much as we have.

A suite of operational instructions and user notes have been prepared for the next Owners with a compendium of manuals and receipts for major servicing and upgrades.
