1950? Maitland Council built farmhouse flood rescue Rowboat. Double sculled tillared flat ply bottom with bilgeboards. Completely original as had been always in storage. The tiller I copied from original as it got stolen while at a flood show. Stripped and recoated 7 times marine coat. Left areas of original council paint and the Bilgeboards have patches of multiple colours.. Was stored at Heritage town of Morpeth. It should be at Maitland museum or Walka Water Works but they want it gifted but I have put too much time and money restoring it and I don't have money. If someone would fund some I would donate to either of said above. Besides the full length hardwood keel the entire boat is only 13 inches high... Not made for flooded rapids but probably made to save people from farmhouses. This all my conjecture as a 60 year antique restorer and what I could gleam about it's history.. The sides are made from one plank of Queensland Maple... Hardwood areas and cedar areas.. Ply bottom and pine bilgeboards.. Qld Maple tiller. Copper screws and nails. Please any thoughts or questions welcome as nobody has been able to add to or disagree with my summation..
