It's all in the name, 'Pride & Joy' is a beautifully presented example of the highly regarded Caribbean 40 MK2, combining serious offshore capability with an incredibly practical layout for family cruising, entertaining and fishing.
Powered by twin Cummins QSC electronic diesels producing 500HP each, with approximately 900 hours, this vessel benefits from the simplicity and reliability of traditional shaft drives and presents with an exceptionally clean engine room.
The Caribbean 40 has long been regarded as one of Australia's great all-round flybridge cruisers. Built around a proven offshore hull, the C40 offers an impressive combination of sea-keeping ability, performance and usable space, with a substantial cockpit, excellent visibility and genuine accommodation for extended stays aboard.
At approximately 12.20m overall with a 4.27m beam, the C40 carries its volume exceptionally well, while substantial 2,000-litre fuel and 650-litre fresh-water capacities add genuine cruising capability.
'Pride & Joy' has clearly been well cared for, with important mechanical maintenance and upgrades already undertaken. Dripless seals to both shafts were replaced in 2023, batteries replaced in 2022, aftercoolers attended to in 2021 and a new hot-water system installed. The vessel was antifouled in December 2025, with the engines also receiving their latest service and salt-water system clean in 2025.
The large teak-laid cockpit is one of the standout features of the Caribbean 40, providing an enormous amount of usable space whether entertaining, fishing or simply enjoying a day on the water. Excellent storage and a cockpit wet bar/preparation area add further practicality, while the substantial swim platform provides easy access to the water.
Sliding doors connect the cockpit directly with the bright saloon, creating an excellent indoor/outdoor entertaining area.
Inside, the vessel presents beautifully with high-gloss timber cabinetry, light upholstery and large panoramic windows bringing plenty of natural light into the saloon. Generous lounge and dining areas provide comfortable space for family and guests, while the well-equipped galley incorporates generous preparation space, refrigeration and a convection microwave for extended stays aboard.
Accommodation is equally impressive, with a private forward master cabin featuring a large double berth, together with a second cabin providing additional berths. Combined with the generous living areas, the layout makes the Caribbean 40 an extremely practical family cruiser.
Upstairs, the enclosed flybridge provides excellent protection in all conditions and features a hardtop with opening sunroof hatch, excellent visibility and a comprehensive Raymarine electronics package.
Adding considerably to the vessel's cruising capability is an Aquapro 3.5m tender powered by a 20HP Yamaha outboard, carried securely on the bow and complemented by a HIAB crane for launching and retrieval - an excellent setup for extended cruising and exploring once at anchor.
