Halcyon is a 1982 Mottle 33 cruising yacht based in the channel area south of Hobart at Margate marina.
Mottle 33s were designed by the renowned Joe Adams and built by George Mottle (NSW). They are a highly regarded solidly constructed cruising vessel with spacious interior that also has a good turn of speed. Their sailing performance is well known, as is their responsive and safe family-friendly handling. These qualities are enhanced on Halcyon with its in-mast furling mainsail and furling headsail, making it easy and fast to get underway as well as packing up at the end.
They are well-suited for day sailing, overnight trips and longer passages. Easily managed by two people, or single-handed.
Equally suited to new and experienced sailors.
Halcyon has a new spray dodger (August 2026), near new standing rigging (2022). It's been very well looked after, regularly serviced (newly antifouled in September 2026), and recently surveyed. Surveyor commented as such: "well maintained Mottle 33. Presents very well for age. All maintenance is up to date, no faults or defects detected during visual non-invasive inspection. "
