Magic - 2006 Catalina 42 MkII, Hull #937
Magic is a well-travelled and comprehensively equipped Catalina 42 MkII with an excellent ownership history and a specification developed for safe, comfortable and independent blue-water cruising.
Originally purchased by a UK businessman, Magic was shipped directly to Europe and imported with VAT paid. Under her first owner she enjoyed relatively light, seasonal Mediterranean use and was stored ashore in Turkey during the off-season.
Her second owner purchased Magic in 2023 and undertook a significant program of upgrades and improvements. Already highly optioned from the Catalina factory, her equipment includes a Forespar Leisure Furl in-boom furling system, Vetus bow thruster and three Lewmar electric winches.
The current owners purchased Magic in the Canary Islands in 2024 before setting off on an extended ocean voyage. After crossing the Atlantic, they cruised extensively through the Caribbean and along the South American coast before transiting the Panama Canal in early 2026 and continuing westward across the Pacific to Fiji.
Throughout the voyage, Magic has been continuously maintained and further prepared for extended cruising. Recent improvements include 70 metres of new anchor chain and a new bimini and spray dodger in 2026, together with ongoing servicing and maintenance of her cruising systems.
With approximately 4,000 engine hours, Magic presents as a proven passagemaker rather than simply a coastal yacht. Her Catalina 42 MkII design combines a spacious and comfortable cruising interior with a practical deck layout, easily managed sail plan and the storage and systems required for extended time aboard.
With the arrival of their first grandchild, her owners' cruising plans have changed and Magic is now reluctantly offered for sale in Fiji.
Located at Vuda Marina, Fiji, Magic represents an opportunity to step aboard a proven, well-equipped blue-water cruising yacht that has already demonstrated her capabilities across the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific.
